12 months to research 30000 emails 8 days to research 650000 emails from a pedophile's computer.
FBI must read a lot faster.
You're a smart man. You know very well that with some basic computing, it's easy to narrow that 650k down to what they were looking for. All 650k was not how many they had to look at in regards to the investigation, but the total number of e-mails found on the laptop. When you factor in that the vast majority were duplicates that were already observed, 8 days of round the clock observation at the FBI is well within reason. Even the much loved "patriot" of folks on here, Edward Snowden, says that it's very easy to do even on an old laptop.
i think the FBI being on Trump's side can be debunked now

I don't think we can say that, exactly. It really does seem like some people within the FBI were indeed colluding on some level with the Trump camp, or trying to. It simply didn't work, lol. Nevertheless, It is troubling.

It remains to be seen whether the collusion worked or not. We should know tomorrow night I guess. I don't think any reasonable person would doubt that re-opening the investigation hurt Hillary in the polls.

Troubling indeed.
Oh, well that's true. I meant it didn't work as in Hillary isn't going to jail because of it. But yeah, if you mean simply the fucked up announcement by the FBI and the involvement of the Trump campaign in an effort to sabotage the election, it definitely had an effect. And Trump is STILL running around saying this election is rigged, for fuck's sake. Um, yeah Donald, it actually was rigged. By YOU. The irony is painful.

if people believe that it is okay for a federal agency, as well as russia, to become partisan and try to sway our election, then this country is well and truly fucked.
people who are okay with this claim to be patriots any other time and in any other situation. people who are okay with this disgust me. they are all political hacks.
there would be a lot of outrage on here if the fbi was working against trump.
Who is the FBI working for now Gimme?
Comey is just doing the right thing now after being pressured by Trump supporting agents to do the wrong thing. Unfortunately politics were played by the FBI and the damage has already been done.
Guess all those leaks to Fox News about emanate charges coming were full of shit, no surprise.
Probably anti-Hillary people versus pro-Trump if anything. But what I believe is that Comey was convinced by the DOJ to ditch the FBI's role as the investigator and become prosecutor. THat is probably what pissed off some in the FBI. Anyone listening to Comey's speech back in August (Dem or Rep) was shocked at Comey's conclusion based on the build-up in the speech. Of course there would be a revolt.
We have no evidence of what happened to piss off those FBI agents, we can only speculate. They may just really disliked Hillary and like Trump. It really is too bad that Bill boarded that plane, was a completely stupid thing to do that got this whole ball rolling.
When the news broke that they were re-opening this investigation I assumed they must have had something pretty substantial. Doing that with 11 days left in the election was a huge bombshell that played right into Trumps campaign narrative.
The fact that there was nothing new to see in the emails makes me more sure that politics were being played. That's going to do some damage to the FBI's integrity. It should be costing some agents their jobs.
He probably did it to prevent a full on revolt. Politics for sure, but perhaps more internal FBI politics and indirectly presidential politics.
Agree that it was internal politics that motivated the whole scenario.

Now we have dems calling repubs riggers?
I called Trump one, and I'm not a Dem. So no.

President Trump has inherited a vast domestic intelligence agency with extraordinary secret powers. A cache of documents offers a rare window into the FBI’s quiet expansion since 9/11.

Interesting stuff. It will take a little while to read through it all, but what I've read paints a disturbing picture. This is where my distrust of the feds kicks in. This isn't partisan. W, Clinton and Obama were all happy to help grown the domestic surveillance network in the name of security, while sacrificing liberties of citizens. The worst part is that Trump/Bannon will likely use these powers in ways their predecessors never dreamed of.

One good thing about Trump, every aspect of government will now be scrutinized like we haven't seen since Nixon. Ultimately, this is a wake up call that should help course correct, at least until we get lulled in to another sense of security again.

We can hope but I'm not yet convinced the hysteria is genuine. Maybe the "how can this happen" crowns is genuine, but the anti trump protests seem to be disgruntled voters unhappy with election results.

It's going to take me a long time to get through it too. It's a lot of info.
I also agree that this isn't partisan, or shouldn't be.
Who would be better at heading up an investigation of an administration, the guy reviled by both parties' establishment or the guy one party or the other prefers?
