It is by far less of an uphill battle if "the world" knows who you are.

    who cares?

i think south park pretty much ended the controversy when they had jj abrams fix the national anthem. all he did was have the pa announcer at the game say "an now please rise, sit, or kneel for the playing of the national anthem."

The funny thing is that we never saw the singer.
Did he sit, kneel or stand while he was singing during that episode?

let me guess you folks are going to rip the Sixers for not letting woman sing with a 'we matter' shirt. We matter? guess that's a new one. in my opinion as an invited guest you don't get to do whatever you want.

I completely agree that when you're given the honour of being invited to sing the anthem (or something similar) at an event, one should bow to the wishes of those invited. This summer BLM-Toronto (which is in itself a joke to many), who were the "honoured guests" at this year's Pride Parade hijacked the event and staged a sit-in for 30 minutes, until organizers capitulated and signed a list of demands put forth. One, it overshadowed the PM's presence in the parade, and it's left a big black eye on the Pride organization here. Unfortunately, those within that community who have spoken against BLM-Toronto's tactics (not their beliefs) have been labelled as racist by BLM-Toronto at the City Hall-type events Pride Toronto held to discuss what happened and how to move forward from this incident. Time and place, is all, and as hard as it is for some to accept, it's not always appropriate. But I'm getting the feeling that's a minority position around here, lol.

apparently the singer at the Sixers game signed a contract which contained a provision that no political statements could be made during the Athem...so yea she has zero argument against what the team did.

Is it really a political statement? Seems more like a humanitarian statement.
