Wasn't Tupac a total criminal? I guess he is considered one of the best rappers ever (I don't like rap), and this is about the music career and not private life... It still stings a bit, though, when straight up criminals are inducted. I mean, he spent time in prison for sexual assault, jail for felonious assault, and a bullet from his gun killed a child. Didn't he shoot some cops too? And yet.... he's a rap superstar who will likely be a RRHoH inductee. Sigh.
Exactly. There should be a Rap and Hip Hop Hall of Fame.

And no rock stars ever had criminal issues in their life ever. The end.
They should change it to the Music Hall of Fame, because outside of a couple of acts, rock music has been less than memorable in the 21st century. And no one is really breaking new ground. So they are gonna run out of modern artists to induct.

I wasn't suggesting they didn't. I was just talking about Tupac. I have no idea who the RRHoF inductees who had violent criminal records and possible murders under their belt when they were inducted are ... are there a lot? My comments would apply equally to them.

I don't know that story. Anyway, yeah, I would argue that if anyone has a disturbing violent criminal record, they shouldn't be inducted, like specifically excluded separate from their rest of their band (I would not suggest that it be retroactive though, i.e. they commit the crimes after being inducted). Maybe that would set a good example for people, I dunno. Anyway, this is going off-topic; just my initial reaction stemming from the Tupac thing.

Its a stupid institution anyway. But putting that aside, there is way too much thought being put into who is in/out of this thing. Ultimately whats decided is who will get the most eyes on the special and buy tickets for the museum.

Sure. I am personally fine with whatever the HoF decides - it's their thing, so they get to set the rules.

Yeah, I mean, musically 2pac belongs (if they want to include hip hop now). But his personal life choices were despicable. But clearly the HOF doesn't care because people like Chuck Berry, Sid Vicious, James Brown, Jerry Lee Lewis are all in. I'm sure there are more, those just came to mind.
who the hell is electric light orchestra and how are they beating us? didn't I watch that series in grade school? that guy lamar was the main guy.
Tell me you're joking?!?! Jeff Lynne & ELO were huge back in the day!! Face The Music is a CLASSIC with Strange Magic & Evil Woman...really good album!! MC5 was only around for 3 years. That is not HOF worthy.
J. Geils Band ... when I was a kid one of the few casettte tapes I had was J. Geils Band. It sucked. Fuck the J. Geils Band with a lute
Joan Baez ... never a good sign when I have to do a Wiki search to find out who you are. You are a hippie. No HOF for you!
