Benaroya Hall vinyl is the most overrated and ridiculous thing in the entire Pearl Jam world... $1,000 for a record? Fucking laughable dude
Keep the money in your pocket, I will send you my CD for free if you really want it. It's the exact same show, same mastering, same everything... Benny wasnt mastered for vinyl.... they took the exact same digital file from the cd and pressed it to wax... you are literally paying $1,000 for a large black cd
Seriously. Keep your money.
The vinyl is actually wine colored but I get your meaning.

I really enjoy the vinyl experience over the cd. Too easy to hit shuffle or to change tracks and not pay attention with a cd. Maybe this particular piece is over priced, who knows?, but never ever believe anyone that says the cd is preferable over the record with everything else being equal. PS. Don't buy bootlegs...

I completely agree. I will never understand the commotion with this record set. My similar CD version sounds quite alright and collects dust. Furthermore, doesn't everyone prefer 90% of their Pearl Jam to be electric and loud
I would be shocked if someone is paying $1,000 for a Benaroya for the sound quality of vinyl (would think it is just part of collecting). If they are than someone needs to hit them up the side of the head and knock some sense into them.

I think the Reeenk Roink CD is way way way more overrated and ridiculous than Benny Hall. So is the blue Vs., if we're talking about stupid pricing. Not to mention the Kong poster.... haha, there is no shortage of stupid, laughable pricing on PJ merch! i really like Benny Hall - great show IMO. I would really love to be able to play the album on my turntable. I would also just like to have it so that my vinyl collection is more complete. I would not, however, spend $1000+ on it. Not unless I won the lottery. I don't understand why the fan base decided to allow the Benny's price to get so out of control. I feel like we, as an entire fan base, need to pull our heads out of our asses and realize that we are the sole cause of the super crazy prices on some of this stuff. $300 - $500 for some vinyl that is really hard to find I can swallow, and have even been known to pay over $300 for a couple PJ albums. That is pretty standard pricing on the secondary market for rare vinyl that is in demand. Records in the same position from other artists are usually along the same lines. But $1000?? For a record that has a run of over 2000?? No. That is just fucking ridiculous.

And I think it's ridiculous that I can't find one yet! I've had a few offers but they have been really beat up and I think $1,000 for a really close to Mint one is more than fair for the seller

It's obviously ridiculous for you to continue to think that $1,000 will get it done.
The price on this has been pretty firmly set at minimum $1,400-$1,600 for an opened one and $2,000+ for a sealed for quite some time. Either adjust your offer price or just get the CD.

Prices are insane. I blame it on a resurgence of popularity. I remember in 98 shows sold out in minutes in LA. But just 2 years later the Binaural tour tickets were available day of in San Diego and LA shows, even RA tour too. Being in college those tours I remember guys in the dorm laughing at going to a PJ show, calling them a has-been band, it just wasn't cool anymore. Thankfully that isn't the case anymore. I was in college those years and remember not buying vinyl because I had a small dorm and didn't have my turntable with me. I remember when Avocado came out you could still buy RA on the website for $20, and Binaural was about $30 on eBay. I'm missing Binaural, Benny, LD and RVM from my vinyl collection because they al came out in that same time period of living in a college dorm and figured I may as well wait a couple years to buy them. Up until about 2008-2010 they were all still affordable, but I was living in a small apartment in San Diego or LA out of college and wanted more room before I expanded my collection. Back then it wasn't like today, they wouldn't sell out day of, and if it was sold out you could get it on eBay for maybe an extra $50. LD and RVM would sell for about $100-150 tops for a long time when they were released. Now something like Sevens sells immediately, then sells on eBay for $500 before they are even delivered. By the time I moved into a bigger house everything got crazy. Things I saw affordable for years and put off until I had room, mostly vinyl and posters, went up 5-10 times in value in just a few years. At the same time it went from easy to get tickets to being lucky to get tickets. I had no problem getting tickets for all 4 LA shows in 2009, not the case today. Now I just kick myself for not buying it when I had the chance. Either there's a lot of bandwagon fans of PJ and/or vinyl and I have to wait it out, or my collection will never be complete. sll that being said, $1000 for Benny is insane. You could have saved yourself about $700 if you were interested 10 years ago. I beleieve it's a matter of time before the prices drop again.

Yep, when all the Pearl Jam collectors start dying. Beatles collectors are there now.. better find the right time to off load your collections or the people interested in it will be dead and you'll be left holding a bunch of stuff no one is interested in anymore.

For sure. If anyone is holding on to the their amazing PJ collection so that they can leave it to their kids as a sweet top off to the value of their inheritance, think again, lol (unless you die too young anyway ... let's hope not!).

I've been pondering for months now about selling off my vinyl. PJ and all. I just can't bring myself to do it. But I honestly don't play any of it that much any more and it takes up so much god damned space.

I would never. My entire vinyl collection will be mine until I get a terminal diagnosis, at which point I'll find someone young who will actually play all the records. I'm assuming someone out there in the world will still want to play it, even in 2061 (which is my prediction for the year I'll die, lol).
