I was reading (between the lines) and just wondered do we realize as regular "joe" citizens really let the media control or at least inspire our political decisions ?
they are the biggest game in town when it comes to gathering political info and I guess you could go to one of those "trusted" political news cites to help you
make up your mind, for instance I was reading this morning that in 1995 Hillary used the same legal tax break Trump has used then there's the teen girl trump

The media does control what we hear and see on TV and on the internet. How much that affects one's vote depends on how widely one reads. You really can't get a clear picture viewing one media source. If you view several, you get a more clear picture. If you view several and read books, even more clear. If you do all those and go out and observe the world, even better focus.

That's true to some degree. But I can guarantee you that there isn't a network other than Fox that will completely ignore certain stories that don't favor their candidate.

You won't find them ignoring the email stories, Clinton Foundation "pay to play" stories, Hillary being "sick" stories, etc. The other day someone even posted a clip from Chris Matthew's show (a rabid liberal) where he explained the attraction to Trump.

If you want to understand the rationale of the populace though, don't you feel that you owe it to yourself to consume (and test the validity of) what a good chunk of people are consuming?

I get enough of that type of idiocy on social media and right here on AMT. I don't need to tune into fox to dumb myself down any further. all the info is there without having to seek it out.

The media is all the same, they all have an agenda...I'm old enough to remember when the evening news was the main source of the news...seems like they spent time just reporting the news, now the news is about inserting ones opinion in the news, 24 hour news is a joke...

Toward the end of John Lydon's marvelous book Anger is an Energy, Lydon talks about how he is now an early to bed, early to rise kind of guy and one of the things he like about that is he likes the early morning CNN news reports because they are more detailed due to the censors not having gotten to the reports yet and he believes he is getting more of the full story. Interesting. I would check it out but I'm rarely up that early. (Wish I could get away with just sleep 1 AM to 5 AM!)

Of course not directly, indirectly sure ... corporations control the government and corporations control the media and that's how they control the message ...

for most American's the only source for info is the T.V or trusty interweb and I find it odd that different stations and web sites lean to one side or the other, shouldn't they just deliver the news ?........you might think that comment coming from a guy who watches FOXNEWS is odd LOL !

That's true to some degree. But I can guarantee you that there isn't a network other than Fox that will completely ignore certain stories that don't favor their candidate.

MSNBC is probably considered the most "liberal" network. You won't find them ignoring the email stories, Clinton Foundation "pay to play" stories, Hillary being "sick" stories, etc. The other day someone even posted a clip from Chris Matthew's show (a rabid liberal) where he explained the attraction to Trump.

and the point of this comment is....what exactly? I never claim to know everything. I sit and read on AMT more than I comment. There are more threads I stay out of than I participate in because I know they are out of my league. I'll readily admit there are many times I'm reading comments between members here and I literally have zero idea what they are talking about, so I try to figure it out without commenting.
