looks like its come down to basically between Chicago I or Toronto II.
all the shows were excellent though. just my guess since i only went to one. :P
08 -MSG I.eV Newark.Stone in BK. 09 -Spectrum II,III,IV. 10- Prudential Center.MSG I,II. Bridge School Benefit Nights I, II. 11- eV NY I, II. Bridge School Benefit Night II (eV solo). 12- Made in America Festival. 13- Oakland. 14- Bridge School Benefit Nights I, II. 17- eV Ohana. 18- Seattle I, II. 21- SHN. 22- ev & Earthlings Beacon, MSG, Camden. 23- eV & Earthlings Ohana. 24 - MSG I, II
My vote is for NJPAC -- noted by EV as the nicest place he's ever played, and his new favorite.
Other Highlights:
- Played "a long one in the spirit of our man Bruce".
- Growin' Up cover
- First played 'Unthought Known': written 5am that morning in his NYC hotel room.
- YL story
- QandA session with the crowd
- His first bad review rap, feelin' righteous and so tough with his MOTHER FUCKIN' BADASS UKELELE!
- Falling into the crowd during Hard Sun.
- Could barely bring himself to leave the stage.
"I'm just feeling so tough with my ukelele...my badass mother f'in ukelele" EV 8/7/08 Newark, NJ
My vote goes to SD2. How can you beat having Ed's mom sitting close to you and it being her birthday?
"I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."
Ok, I know there are no boots (boo!), so this is a tough one. However, lot of you crazy jammers went to multiple shows...so which show do you think was the best?
My vote...Boston II
Arc-most increadable piece of music I have EVER heard.
Wishlist -just superb
Growing Up-excellent cover
Hard Sun-perfection
The fact that Eddie called James Taylor a Mother F--- Bad Ass
Eddie acknowledging Lindsay
I was at Boston II, best Arc of the 6 shows I was at, but Berkeley II was the best of the 6 shows I attended overall.
"Music, for me, was fucking heroin." eV (nothing Ed has said is more true for me personally than this quote)
I went to 3 shows and here's what I'll say, based on what I've read and heard about other shows on the tour:
Chicago 1:
-"Ship Song" - Great song, and how long has it been since he's played it?
-"Hurt" - Did anybody see that one coming? Well played too!
-"Betterman" (alternate version) - First and only time ever played that way.
-"Helpless" - Great song, only 2nd time played, beautiful with EJB.
-"Someday We'll Go All the Way" - Not for everyone, but only the 2nd time ever played.
-"Parting Ways" - Lesser played tune on this tour, excellent with Liam.
Now, I ain't saying that rarities make a show, because that's a matter of preference. BUT these were awfully good. Then you have to consider a few other things.
-The crowd was enthusiastic, but overall well-behaved. During the encore, Ed said something to the effect of Liam and him agreeing that it was the best crowd of the tour, or one of the best... can't remember.
-Tomas Young coming out and receiving a standing ovation before "No More".
-Arc, Sometimes, Trouble, Walking the Cow, Goodbye, Driftin'.. etc.
-Ed seemed to be in great spirits the whole time. I think he really fed off the crowd.
So, between the 3 shows that I saw (and all of them were special to me), Chicago 1 was hands down the best.
San Diego 2...Let My Love Open The Door for the first time, Believe You Me for the first time...Sean Penn toast and roast with Emile onstage, Don't Be Shy for the first time i believe...happy birthday to his mother...just an awesome show
That being said...Toronto 2 and CHI 1 were the two best
The crowd was great, there were a few drunks but it made the mood better actually, and Ed was loving it. He enjoyed interacting with the crowd alot. Plus, the venue was beautiful.
The Massey Hall shows were pretty fucking cool...Especially Night 2 with all the Neil covers and Eddie playing drums. But that's really my only frame of reference since I didn't go to any other shows on the tour.
Chicago 1 read well on the fanviews and seemed to be a special night.
The West Coast show where Mikey showed up? San Diego? Los Angeles? that was probably pretty fucking cool.
Who knows?
Hopefully The DC show was good...since that's the one that will likely get released.
Id either say toronto 2 or newark. dont know much about toronto 2 but it sonds like it was amazing with all the neil songs.
Newark kicked ass.
Amazing Standing O at the BEGINNING of the concert, we had to be told to sit.
Tim Robbins in the house
Unthought Known first time ever
Masters of War was a great performance, very emotional in my opinion
Turning Japanese lol
Elderly Woman stand up sing-a-long
Eddie felt tough....with his badass motherfuckin ukulele
YELLOW LEDBETTER STORY
Let my love open the door, with make and female sing-a-long parts
ARC, what more can I say.
Chandlelier lowering during hard sun, and Eddie having the crowd hold him up
Respectful Crowd
EXCELLENT NIGHT!
Oh yes, I totally agree! Granted I only saw Newark and DC 1, but Newark felt so comfortable, and friendly. Eddie had the biggest smile on his face at the end of the night; the whole thing was beautiful! And ARC was AMAZING!!

Alright, here is my take on it... i know its hard to not be bias if you went to some of them but CMON... I went to BOSTON 2 which was a good show, but im not stupid... TORONTO 2 blows away any of the others... i dont even see how it can be close... everyone basically has reported that TORONTO was the best crowd and TORONTO 2 is def the best ( and longest ) setlist of any ED Solo show... The CHI show with HURT maybe 2nd,... but i honestly think TORONTO 2 is first and TORONTO 1 is second from everything ive been told and read about it...
I went to 2 shows. but i have heard (Berkely, CHI 1/2). I attended NJPAC and NYC 1. I got to touch Ed at both shows I was atand got to hold him when he leaned on the crowd for hard sun at NJPAC. Ill list in my order from them (obviously the 2 attented will get 1 and 2)
1.NJPAC (do yourselves a favor and re-read the fanview) Or PM me for some special footage
2. NYC 1
3.CHI 1 ( what i heard of this, WOW)
4. Berkely 2
5. CHI 2
But hey thats just my view, Im enjoying peoples opinions

EV SOLO-- NYC 1 and NJPAC
I'm almost positive that never before have i sat in a completely stoic state for over an hour, with tears accumulating in my eyes for any other concert...so its safe to say that for me personally the NJPAC show killed.
1. Toronto I
2. Montreal II
3. Vancouver I
4. Vancouver II
Shows: Montreal 98, Barrie 98, Montreal 00, Montreal 03, Montreal 05, Ottawa 05, Toronto 06, Vancouver Night 1 08 (EV), Vancouver Night 2 08 (EV), MSG1 08, MSG2 08, Montreal Night 2 08 (EV), Toronto Night 1 08 (EV), Toronto 09, Hartford 11 (EV), Ottawa 11, Ottawa 16, Ottawa 22.
No argument, Berkeley 2, none of you other slugs got The Master wheeled out on a handtruck and an amazing closing set like we did. No argument, not even close.
And I'm not living this life without you, I'm selfish and clear
And you're not leaving here without me, I don't wanna be without
My best... friend. Wake up, to see you could have it all
