Don't quite understand your post. He's a huge Neil Finn fan and has covered both crowded house and split enz before.I thought it was awesome!

makes sense considering Eddie's friendship with Neil Finn (and Tim and Liam for that matter) and his contribution on the 7 Worlds Collide project
I would've fallen from the sky, till you...
  • Crowded House sucks. I don't care if he's a fan. I get the connection. The song sucks. He has 3 songs and selects to do a cover of that drek? Do you understand my post now?

Though I do wonder if it was more a tip to Howard Stern tipping his hat to Garry Schandling. Hey, now!

Overall, quite underwhelming. I expected very little and got less. Though I do have People Have the Power going through my brain now. So, there's that.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

Hey to be a jerk but you sir are an idiot. Maybe spend 5 minutes understanding the meaning of the song and maybe what the event is about. The set list was perfect and exactly what I expected. Nothingman on the Piano was genius.

Don't need 5 seconds. Well aware. The song sucks. There's a million better songs he could have chosen (including a bunch of his own) if trying to send a message. No need to wallow in garbage. Nothingman was cool. I do think he didn't repeat People have the power enough, though.

I think some of you would think it great if Ed farted on stage for 15 minutes. Be objective. It was under whelming at best. We will all live. It's ok.

If you want to see how great a 3 song set with a guest can be check out Chris Martins 121212 set. (And I'm not even a Chris Martin or REM fan).
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

    ummmmm. Yeah. Ok then.

I know it's sometimes hard to understand writers intent on the inter webs, but I think that ones fairly obvious.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.
  • I was surprised how many 20-somethings in the audience knew the lyrics to the Crowded House song.
Nothingman sounded amazing. He was showing off his pipes on that one.
  • What did he play? Nothing man on piano with Chris Martin sounds intriguing.
  • I don't think I've ever heard anyone say Don't Dream It's Over sucks. Especially with such disdain. I wasn't a big fan of Chris Martin singing his parts, don't think his voice fits the song. Ed, on the other hand, I thought did quite well.

Don't Dream It's Over, Nothingman, & People Have The Power
  • Crowded House is awesome. Don't Dream it's Over is a great song. Neil Finn is one of the best songwriters of all time. dot, dot, dot....fuck off.

If Ed farted on stage for 15 minutes, I would indeed buy that bootleg. Epic. Just fucking epic.

Your an ass. Everyone on here agrees. I came on here to talk about the songs he played, you came here to bash it. In general, people should come to the band's own forum to talk about the band, not to bash them. If you didn't like it, that's fine, but you don't have to take a dump in their own back yard. It's rude and you should expect the backlash.

And your comment saying the song sucks, most people would disagree. Including Chris Martin and Eddie Vedder.

Just watched the videos & thought they were great. Love Neil Finn...one of my all time favorites.

Nothingman with piano was beautiful. Well done, Eddie.

  • Could someone post the set list for all the songs Ed sang? I know he sang with Cat Stevens and also Chris Martin, but did he do any solo songs?
