I'm not sure about the rest of you, but nothing impresses people more than hearing a recording of my voice yelling something during quiet moments at a concert. Of course, I love to play that recording loud, while driving very fast in my very loud speedboat, as close to the beach as possible... even though no one can hear it, it is doubly impressive. Also, it helps compensate for my micro-phallus.

    Excellent, excellent post.

I don't know about appropriate ... but it would be futile. Nothingman is not an Ed song.
I know, but a guy can dream right? I wish he'd play either that or Footsteps, even though that's a Stone song!
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

This may be a stupid question, but there's no sort of "dress code" or anything at these theater venues, right? thanks

White Pants and a Lab Coat is acceptable

you can dream ... but you'll just be disappointed when you wake up ;)

Ed only plays Ed songs from the PJ catalogue.

PJ shows are all about rocking out but not these. I was so excited to just sit back and zone out during the show. Listening to the mans voice in the solo setting is pretty surreal.
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”

I remember seeing a sticky about the west coast tour saying no photos whatsoever. Haven't seen that for this tour, but I'm sure it'll be the same. Anyone?

    Yep, no photos.

The ten club e-mail confirmation for tickets said no cameras or camera phones allowed (though others posted camera phones were allowed, you just couldn't take pics with them--get warned by security etc.).

My only suggestion would be to not yell out, especially trying to be funny.
You will pretty much always come off as a douche, and 9 times out of 10 an unfunny douche at that...

Pretty please don't do what this guy did at House of Blues 2003...

I heard one of the shows and it is my favorite boot *ever*.

I am going to the Saturday Warner show in DC, and I can't imagine the crowd there being bad. Hopefully, they will stop staring at their shoes for a few seconds. God, talk about concert etiquette, DC takes the cake.

Where are you finding these boots? I'd kill for the San Diego ones...

I could have sworn ED and Jeff wrote Nothingman......anyone?

I was under the impression Ed wrote the lyrics, Jeff wrote the music. Even so, at best it's a partial Ed song.

But it's not an "Ed" song.

Good rule of thumb: If you've never seen Ed play guitar on a particular song in a Pearl Jam setting, odds are heavily against him playing it at his solo shows.
