Agreed, I'll also never understand why people pay almost a thousand dollars for the Bennaroya Hall LP's when the legit, good sounding CD's can be had for $20.... the Pearl Jam memorabilia train may never have been more out of control than it is nowmy2hands said:15 hundo for a CDR... talk about bootlegs... That and it actually is limited. To around 2000 (probably a little more to most limited things having extras made). It's not that many, so it creates a situation where way more poeple want one than are available. Had the pressing been 5000 or more, they wouldn't go for that kind of money.Dr. Delight said:

I have spent some money in some crazy ways but I don't think I could ever pony up that amount for a CD.
people aren't even sure about the lifespan of CDs... if they will even be playable years later.... but it is a nice collectable to have.livefootsteps.org/user/?usr=446

Me neither. To me, it is the craziest piece of PJ merch by far. Boggles my mind that anyone would care about it much at all, let alone enough to spend $1500 on it. And that's not an unprecedented price I don't think. Didn't the last one that sold go for the same? Anyway... Obviously some people think the price is worth it, but I just don't get it. I don't even find the story or circumstances behind the existence of Reenk Roink particularly interesting.my2hands said:15 hundo for a CDR... talk about bootlegs... Its a test pressing for the album that started it all.... I can see the importance and collect-ability.PJ_Soul said:

I think it's a pretty neat story. And yeah like MedozK said.. It's where it all began.0

I can't. If there were only one of them or maybe 5 of them or something I could. Or if it were a vinyl test pressing.MedozK said:

Yah. I think people forget CD burners weren't really available in 1990/91. I remember them starting to come out in the mid 90's, and started to get widely used by people by the end of the 90s. I think by the book the technology was invented by 1990/91, but is was so new and expensive that no one was using it yet. Everything back then was pressed.MedozK said:

Since there wasn't a vinyl release in the states for the initial Ten release.... these are as good as you can get.PJ_Soul said:

I used to work with a guy that had a Reeenk Roink. He accidentally GAVE IT AWAY in the mid-90s when he was clearing out some duplicate cds. I think he bundled together 10 cds for £20 or something like that.
Some lucky bugger got a cheap Reeenk, I wonder if they even knew what they'd got. I'd still be crying about it if I'd done that!“Do not postpone happiness”
