Your Absolute Favorite Bootleg?

I have catapaulted myself into the land of the PJBootleg over the last few months, listening to at least 5-6 a week, and I am interested in hearing what your absolute favorite boot is.

Mine is probably Indio '93 (The Fuck me in the brain show). So young, so angry, so much energy, and a full setlist. Highlights are: Even Flow, Rats, Blood, Once and Sonic Reducer. Great sound quality as well. If you haven't heard it yet, stop what you're doing right now and go download it.

FLACs of the Indio 93 show are available at In The Present Tense.

I can't really pick a favorite out of so many shows. I've been listening to Honolulu 1992 quite a bit. That's a nice recording. Copenhagen 07 is a great one too. Of course Atlanta 4/3/94 is one of the greats. Both Buenos Aires shows from 05.

it changes everyday...they have done so many great concerts...in fact, i think that at least 50% of the availables bootlegs are amazing shows, and maybve the rest are "just good"

  • Of course, for me it's Marseille 2006 or Paris 2006. First PJ gigs I went to...
    :)

But, considering only the music (and not the emotion), I've just listened to the Saratoga 2000 and I love it. It's an example because it changes everyday.

To me, in order to answer properly to your question I think the best of the best are
    - Seattle 6.11.2000
    - New York 8.7.2003
    - Marseille 09.09.2006
Still waiting for a gig in Paris (in a venue not a festival) since 2006...
    Spin, spin !!

    Marseille + Paris 2006
    London + Werchter 2007
    Arras + Belfast 2010
    Arras 2012

Your right about not being able to pick a show with so many to choose from but I would have to say my favorite is San Diego 2003 only because it was my first PJ show and for this reason only it is my favorite. After that there are a bunch. Pittsburgh 2000 is a great show. Check it out if you haven't listen to it in a while.

  • When it comes to the shows i've been to, i find myself going back to Verona and Lisbon I a lot, from 2006. I don't really listen to the 2007 unofficial bootlegs, it makes me sad that we don't have official ones :(

I love Adelaide I, from 2006! Amazing show.

    MSG 2 98, Melbourne 95/98 , Soldier Field 95, Atlanta 94, Newcastle 06, Grand Rapids 06, the Gorge ones, Seattle 2 2000.....

Nothing matches up with Buenos Aires 11/25/05. Listen, and be humbled.

People talk about rarities, interesting Ed rants, great Mike solos, and so on. This one is just about how bloody loud and into a show a crowd can be.

I recently discovered the greatness of New York 2 2003

it's better than the first night.

awesome setlist, the energy is just incredible. listen to "corduroy" for example

It's not my favorite but 11-30-05 Curitiba, Brazil - Pedreira Paulo Leminsky is an amazing show. The whole band is on fire from the start. Mike does a little solo thing in the beginning. Then Eddie starts up Interstellar Overdrive and Corduroy rises up out of the ending, great segue. Lots of energy, great setlist, awesome show.

Excellent, MSG2 03 was a better boot than night 1. Corduroy, SOLAT and Nothingman are memorable. Night 1 Eddie sounded tired and was out of breathe. I mean he was blown away by Ben Harper. Not a knock to Ben Harper, but Eddie usually does better. And he does, Night 2.

    Also

    Albany 06 (great sound)
Grand Rapids 06 (great crowd, also boasts the best WWS of the tour)

  • I still love Soldier Field July 95. I think it's because it's the first real bootleg I first heard when I really started to get into PJ 11-12 years ago. I was floored. I guess it's like your first love, you'll always remember it. Still listen to songs from it on a daily basis.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.
  • There are many awesome PJ boots. 2005 and 2006 had so many great shows. If I had to only pick one I would pick Torino 2006. That show is mind blowingly awesome.

Some of the others would be
    Gorge 2005
    London 2005
    Philly 2005
    Thunder Bay 2005
    Mexico 2005
    Berlin 2006

    Vienna 2006
    Vitoria 2006
    Praha 2000
    Pittsburgh 2000
    Milan 2000

    I guess I have a few.
My first PJ show to witness was at Bonnaroo. How is that for lucky?
