Red Mosquito, Lukin, Betterman all scratched from encore 2 due to 10:30 curfew. Really, 10:30 curfew ?

Loved Release into Long Road, who doesn't?

Strangest Tribe was an absolute treat!

Masters of War sounded rugged. I enjoyed the distorted guitar on this.

Was nice to hear a new cover in the Aerosmith song. Didn't know what it was so I liked it.

As always, All Those Yesterdays was an amazing performance. I wish they'd play it more.

    Crowd was great. Good vibe!

Thank you Boston for being a great host city!

Floor wasn't too difficult to navigate. Getting to the floor however was crazy. Felt like cattle in a sardine can.
This. Very hard to get drinks.

pros : first off being on field in Fenway was amazing. Touching the green monster was very cool. Seats were great, thanks for that ticket drop 10c. Loved the 5 song slow start as sun was going down. "All those yesterdays, all those double plays", lol. Masters of war, patriot, grievance first set highlights for me as well. Strangest Tribe, unreal. I gotta a feeling was great. Crowd was super pumped most of night.

Cons: thought just breathe and sleeping by myself brought crowd down from its high. Looked like Ed tried to pump it back up during life wasted. 4 song 2nd encore is just weak. I know they had a 10:30 curfew (?) and apparently started later cause crowd wasn't in. Losing red mosquito, Lukin, Betterman and indifference hurts.

But all in all great show, great time, I thought great job by Fenway people. There were plenty of merch stands. Wish I could go Sunday.

Cool show! Felt the flow of it was a little off, compared to the normal built set list. Seemed like they would get going, then slow it down after two or three songs, then try to build it back up. Crowd seemed like it was decent. Highlights of the night were the stories from Ed regarding sneaking into Fenway, and hearing Strangest Tribe and I've Got A Feeling for the first time live. Masters of War was cool too! Can't wait to see what they do with night #2!

thank you 10club for a4 row 6 in between ed and jeff

    the sound was fantastic!

not going into songs etc but one thing i did notice going back to the row 1-2 lottery and all seating is that the first 4 rows directly in front of me had zero life in it. it was rather shameful with such fantastic seats. people directly in front of me and beside me literally disappeared for at least 1 hour i guess to go smoke and buy alcohol. even the people on the rail were just leaning on it not seemingly into it...row 5 and behind were totally fine...

i now see why the band is only going forward with ga...

I was in A3 and with the exception of a few people in my area the crowd felt dead down front. I guess the age of the 10c members is starting to catch up. Sound was great. Seating was really tight. Some people need to eat a salad every once in a while. The 2 people next to me were spilling over out of their seats. I could barely move most of the time. Overall thought the show was great.

First time seeing a show at Fenway and it was great! My only gripe was the group of guys next to us must have taken 10 piss breaks and had zero energy. Why even go to the show? Sit at home, throw in Ten, have a beer and let someone else have your seat.

Add me to the list of kinda unimpressed. It was fine but not anywhere near a top 10 for me. Agreed with the person who said it felt "skinny". Strangest tribe, society and fast patriot were highlights. Release , long road start is pretty much a dream, just never got fully in gear after that, for me at least.

Masters of War, I've Got A Feeling and the awesome Comfortably Numb cover were my highlights. Draw The Line was fun too. Love Release->Long Road as an opener. Thought Ed telling the Polaroid story again this visit was strange but it paid off when we got to see the pictures. Mike McCready is fucking awesome, every time. Strangest Tribe was fun to hear but so many people had no idea what it was or why it was special. Great seats next to Pesky's Pole. Fenway looks great and gets better with age. Sound was a pleasant surprise. Good times all around. Interested to see this show again tomorrow at House Of Blues and then to experience whatever they have in mind for us on Sunday. So damn glad these shows are finally happening!

That's a great setlist IMO. I'd have walked out happy after just those first 5 songs!

Add to that Faithfull, Grievance, Strangest Tribe, some amazing covers, what's not to love?

Not sure how anyone can complain...setlist was phenomenal and in combination with the setting and atmosphere...just a beautiful thing tonight
  • Rarities sometimes disappoint but Strangest Tribe was spot fucking on. Masters of War was dirty and mean, certainly Ed's political statement for the night (or at least the one he didn't feel the need to apologize for). Loved Mike's solos on Black and Comfotably Numb tonight although his sound was in and out where I was sitting. Great night but I was expecting something like they originally planned for Wrigley '13 when they had 40 songs listed.
"Hey, listen asshole, one more fucker throws a fuckin' quarter up here and we're outta here, I'm tellin' ya, FUCKER! What the fuck, you're blowin' it for fuckin' everybody. Hit me with a fuckin' quarter again and, fuck it, I'm outta here. We're all outta here. Fuck you, and if anyone sees someone throw fuckin' change right next to them, you have my permission to beat the fuckin' holy shit outta them."

Anyone have a link to masters of war from tonight?
    Feel free 2 feel free
  • What an absolutely incredible night. From the weather, to the vibe, to the crowd, to the band...they were on fire.

I finally got to hear Long Road (one of my holy grails)

What a beautiful version of Masters of War... Oh and..

STRANGEST TRIBE?!?! Can't wait for House of Blues tomorrow to relive it and Sunday for night 2.

WOW!!! What an amazing setlist...Release into long road, Masters of war, strangest tribe, society AND FAITHFULL!! Truly one of my favorites. Loved grievance, down and fast patriot too. What more can I say...It was a great, great show!!! Seemed like everyone in the band was digging it too. Weird that almost everyone around us was sitting down for about 75% of the time. Don't get me wrong, we had a blast and danced like crazy anyway, but it was so strange. I mean, what the fuck were they all doing there?!? #evenbrosunite

    Instant classic bootleg, please!!!

  • Band sounded great. High spirits. Was transcendent at times seeing them in my baseball shrine. Rarities were treats.

This all being said -- I dug the greatest hits setlist at Bonnaroo more, and they sounded tighter then. Just my two cents. But I cannot complain -- it's Pearl Jam. It's Fenway. Enough said.

Not only the best band, but the ballsiest.

Well said... it's unreal. They hit a homerun tonight. Crazy crazy setlist. . Phenomenal opening with Release and Long Road. Best version of Masters of War ever... Mike was awesome... and then out of nowhere a fast punky version of fucking patriot! I'll also say one of the best versions of Corduroy I've heard and I love it closing the 1st encore!

Mike is so good on Comfortably Numb! That's the most impressive setlist of covers in one show I've ever seen... All Those Yesterday's was great to get early. . Ed told great stories tonight and was just loving every second of it

Really a top 5 show for me... Fenway sounded amazing too and the 10 Club really really took care of me. B5 on field right between Ed and Mike.

The aerosmith cover was so cool and just what makes this band so awesome to do that...

Phenomenal night. Definitely think tonight was better than either MSG show and goes with Philly 2 for best shows of tour so far. Can't wait for Sunday

Lastly... I sat around just the best group of dans tonight and that made the night even better

  • Release to open just like I wished for, Corduroy was killer, and Masters of War? Are you serious?! Was so not expecting that! It sounded AMAZING!!

Overall the setlist seemed a bit unstructured, but a lot of great songs and moments, and the sound was great. Much better than I expected.
McCready is a damn god. Could watch him jam for days...
The Polaroid stories with the accompanying Polaroids themselves was very heartwarming to hear Ed talk about. And Mike taking Polaroid pics of the crowd at the end? Priceless.

They stuck to the 10:30 curfew which kind of sucks, but the show didn't feel short to me. Can't wait for Sunday!

This one came up short in my book. A few miscues, relatively short set list and a couple odd placed tunes.
    1. The first Fenway gig. 2. The band has not played Boston in 6 years 3. a Huge build-up.........? Then At 10:30 the lights are on and it's over, really..?it feels a little skinny for a PJ concert in Boston. Admittedly I am not a fan of the larger venues, nor should this band be either . My 2 cents. See you Sunday.

Fenway had a strict 1030 curfew. Don't complain because you didn't do your homework.
