OK, all you left coasters. I'm going to Santa Barbara to see the Who October 6. I'm only going to be there 2 days. Yeah, I know, it's not like a real vacation or anything so I need advice from the experts on the best things to do there. Any info on what to see, where to eat, who has the best coffee? Only been there once, when I was 9 years old so I'm pretty sure a few things have changed.

Thanks in advance!

Congrats, Who P! I haven't been there in years but remember it being just lovely. I'm sure you'll find some great grub.

Santa Barbara is a beautiful town! I think you'll be far enough away from the Carmel/Big Sur area to avoid any smoke from a huge fire there (it's been blowing mostly east up our way). Have a great time!

What's the weather like in October? The concert is at the Santa Barbara Bowl, so I'm guessing it's cool in the evening.

My half sisters wedding was in Santa Barbara. Nice area and better than the inland hellhole I live in.

I'm an eastcoaster and know nothing about the area, but saw EV at the Santa Barbara Bowl a few summer's ago. Amazing experience and the city is breathtaking. We asked the locals where to eat and many people recommended La Super-Rica Taqueria. It definitely lived up to the hype. The line was long, but worth it! Santa Barbara Brewery was fun after the show. Try to get to the venue early if you can. The views from the top are spectacular.

I wore a long-sleeved shirt to the bowl in the middle of the summer. It definitely cools off at night.

That's Orange County, though, in Buena Park. I got a lot of relatives on my dads side in the OC so I know the area quite well. He's lived nearby in Fullerton and Garden Grove when I visited him on weekends as a kid.

Since you'll be near the coast, I'd bring layers. Santa Barbara is far enough south that days could be warm even in October, and evenings can get cool. It's very unlikely you'll see anything extreme. Typically the temps are fairly moderate there- 60's and 70's. Should be nice!

It is if you're in really bad traffic, though. Don't take the 5 since they're doing lots of improvement between the 91 and 605. I'm quite familiar with some of that area since my dad used to work in Cerritos for UPS off the 5 freeway at Carmenita.
