If that gets brought back I will eat cereal again.

brian,
on that oatmeal topic here goes a quick story. a guy i know has a couple 18 wheelers & he was wanting me to operate one running around alaska & back down here for him. on my first & only tour of alaska he told me he'd pay for all my meals as we teamed up in his truck. every morning i had oatmeal, scrambled eggs & ham or bacon. simple. turns out my breakfasts were more expensive than his & his pal, "the arctic squirrel" (as i called him).

0 degrees fahrenheit is -17celsius
bowl of hot oatmeal, eggs, ham & coffee sure is a good way to start the day

Or the US could pull it's head of it ass and convert to Celsius like the rest of the civilized world. Or you fuckers can just learn to math. At least that's what I tell all my US friends when they whine about not knowing "what that is in Fahrenheit".chadwick said:brian,

I'm doing ok in terms of comprehending the different ways temps are measured.0 -
The U.S. began to convert to the metric system (remember the highway signs that gave both miles and kilometers?) but then the whole thing was retracted during the (I believe it was) Reagan administration. It makes sense since base 10 is simplest and really much easier. When the weather hits freezing, what could make more sense than... 0 degrees!hedonist said:

Measuring is especially a pain in the butt. 12 inches? Three feet to a yard? 5,280 feet in a mile? Crazy!
The only catch is (as far as I can figure) we can't really have a base 10 calendar. 365.256 days to circle the sun? Tell me the Planet doesn't have a twisted sense of humor!"It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -

But I'd imagine a cereal gut would be worse.0 -
I don't drink beer because of the yeast so for me the semi-bulging belly (not too bad... yet) is either the cereal or age.PJfanwillneverleave1 said:

cereal & peanut butter toast was a hit back in the dayor English muffin

It means learn to do the conversions, dear Hedo. Some folks insist on "not understanding" unless it is pre converted for them. If I have to math when I go south of the border or someone lists a temp or distance in Imperial I do the conversions in my head. The same is expected in reverse is all.hedonist said:

Here ya go. To convert Fahrenheit to Celsius:
T(°C) = (T(°F) - 32) / 1.8
or use the online converter:

I usually get the Arrowhead Mills brand at Sprouts Farmers Market.0

I haven't had a bowl of cereal in a while, let alone for dinner. My fav used to be Raisin Bran Crunch w/ 2% milk chilled to 4 degrees Celsius. You're welcome, Can'da.0

Winter, 3.21.2018 22:15 hours. Totally lacking resistance, I go the the kitchen and make quick oats with raisins, honey, almond milk. I know, it's late, maybe to late to eat but... it's winter, it's oatmeal. What harm in that?

I could eat cereal any time of day. I used to eat it sometimes for my evening meal when I was in college or the year or 2 after graduating. Now, it's pretty much just in the morning for breakfast, although I am known to get a handful for a quick snack. My favorite is golden grahams, but usually get either honey nut cheerios or vanilla almond special k to have a somewhat healthier food.0
