Don't forget Wrigley 2013 also had the "VIP" Merch shop in a hotel offsite that people were able to go to even if they didn't buy the package and line up for hours indoors and it was still not enough.
It really doesn't matter what they do if they stick to the current formula of low print runs and limited stock to make sure they don't get stuck with a warehouse full of unsold merch. I wouldn't want the job of predicting what will be the next hot item vs the next unsold failure, but they could at least focus on making certain high demand low risk items that always seem to sell like stickers at least.....

Again. Pre-sale eliminates some of the forecasting and gets the merch in the hands of those who want it the most.
The Wrigley lines were insane... they moved so slowly and had no structure so anyone could cut in and out. But I think they were setup as Cubs game outdoor booths are which are obviously not equipped for a PJ concert fanbase.
I don't know what the answer is - would love if they could do preorders online, but obviously that's unlikely. And sadly I'll probably wait outside again, because I'm a complete sucker!
No way I'm standing in a line for hours in the August heat.. I might get a poster out of it, but the rest of day/evening would be ruined.. I'll save my energy for the show and time meeting new people. We love to have the poster/sticker/button from all the shows we are forutnate enough to attend, but it can't be a priority.

Please dont have any merch at wrigley and sell all after at the shop So.people focus on music. And dont waste hours of their life just standing to get a shirt and a poster ..chicago is a great place to enjoy..make new friends to have quality time!!.thanks!!
They might have to do a pop-up shop somewhere "off-site" as the Cubs are at home that week through Thursday. Or just start the trucks outside the park from Friday-Tuesday.

I'm there Friday and missing out on a Cubs game! ugh! Will catch the White Sox tho!

Will be interesting to see how they address Wrigley. If pop-up, where? Always could do a pre-order for Wrigley only ; ) can't let it die, but could see pop-up or merch truck off-location Wed & Thurs.
