Because it ran so smoothly last time?
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

Aren't the lineups just as bad as a merch truck? It's going to messy either way. 44000 fans, 1 merch truck (maybe a 2nd one at best). Too many people, not enough merch, employees.

Maybe they could do the pop-up shop on Friday or Sunday?

Last time there were at least 3 merch stands/tents outside the venue and they started selling 2 days prior to the show and there were still MASSIVE problems, and like 6 hour lines. It was so brutal it wasn't even worth it. This time I'll buy the damn poster for $200 off eBay if I need to, 6 hours in line in 90 degree sun wasting my day isn't worth the money I'll save.

Problem is that (if I remember correctly) the Cubs crew has to run the merch through their trucks/booths/whatever.

Now if they could do what the Foo Fighters did @ Wrigley and have a pop up shop at a place away from Wrigley that could help, although they sold out of the good stuff quickly too and left just as many people frustrated, so either way it's going to be messy for a lot of people.

I'm usually right there with you, I've waited in merch lines for hours, usually have fun talking to fellow fans, but last time in Chicago was inhumane. I hope they figure something out for Boston and Chicago.

I'm confused... How does a pop up shop keep us from waiting in long lines, with merch drying up and missed precious time in the Windy City?

Last time at Wrigley I got lucky and was one of the first 20 people in line at one of the merch stands. But it will take dedication and a good portion of your day to wait in line and get merch this time around!

I remember I got 2 Cracker Jacks and I sold one to the girl next to me during the show for $35. DOH!

I paid $100 the day after the show for the hot dog poster. Worth every penny to avoid those lines or having to protect it from the rain.

the pop-up shop is an extra chance to get what you are looking for and takes at least a tiny bit of pressure off the other merch stands. And since I live here I don't mind spending some of my morning/afternoon waiting in line and throwing the stuff in my car and then meeting up with friends for beers

Would be nice. But a poster pre-sale would be even better.

I completely agree. Why do you think they don't offer a poster pre-sale for each Ten Club ticket sold? It seems it would be very easy to do...

You are right. The band at Wrigley sold merch for three days in a row outside the stadium at three different merch stands. That is a "pop up" shop. I would rather have three merch stands than one shop at a Volcom type store.

There was just a lot of demand and the only answer besides selling stuff ahead of time to 10c members is having more stands open.

I remember the lines at Wrigley 2013 literally wrapped around the entire stadium. Being from Boston, I don't know what they're going to do for Fenway...I feel like there's no room, it's so congested.

Where was the foo fighters pop up shop in Chicago?

How about instead of a pop up shop they do a Pop Up Department Store??

Find a very large empty space
Set up multiple departments with multiple registers with lots of employees and plenty of merch.
Maybe add in a coffee bar and a beer garden and invite food trucks.

Open it 4 days before the shows and keep it open for 4 days after.

    A win win for everyone.

No pop ups. No outside vending. Just sell stuff inside.

I want some stickers and some cards if they got them.

    Thx

the main reason I want a pop-up shop is for a chance to buy some vinyl

If there is no pre-order then I think this inside method might be our best bet. Let's hope the supply is stocked accordingly....I would anticipate huge demand for all of this stuff.
