2016 Single

I know it's early, but does anyone have any ideas for the 2016 single? I think it should be this:

    HELLO, regarding the 2016 holiday single.... does anyone know if it is going to be sent anytime soon??? today is october 2nd 2017 and i have had no clue on this one....regards to everyone!

    I suppose soon-ish? They warned everyone to make sure their mailing info is up to date when? Like back in July or something? Surely they will make sure it's sent before the year is over... or else it's going to be pretty weird to have a 2017 single.

    I think it should be an original song on Side A. It's been a long time since they did that. Enough with the live recordings of songs we've already heard a million times and that are already available on youtube.

    i hope is an original song on Side A too.... yeah too many live songs already.... i would also be happy if it's a demo recording or another cover from back in the day (90's or so) like the "Wishing Well" song they put in last 2015 holiday single :skull:

    You would think that after 26 (!) years of doing this, they'd have figured out how to get it out reasonably close to the holiday season.  At least its called the "Annual Single" now because the "holiday single" became a joke.   I think they came close one time, like maybe the following April or something.    Better start prepping the 2017 one now so we can have it by 2019.

    I don't think calling it the annual single helped, because it started as a Christmas single, which means it came out at the end of the year.   That gives you a margin of error of a week before it comes out a year late :)  I don't think it really made any difference going from xmas single to annual single, because the 2016 annual single will still come out in 2017 (maybe.. possibly 2018?).

    Very unlikely the 2016 will be delivered here to the UK in 2017 but I don't think it's as bad as me getting the analog t-shirt with a date on it around February the following year. Only once have we had a decent shirt though in my opinion (2015). I don't know why we can't get a t-shirt of our choosing it would certainly shift some of the excess stock.

    My "Reach Down" was my first one. It came around Easter, as did several others. A few years after that, it was more around June or July.

    My Betterman/Someday at Christmas record came in late January.

    I believe the first one which was analog-only actually came right at Christmas.

    It has been 22 months since I paid my 2016 membership (Jan 2016).
    It will be 16 months until I pay for my 2019 membership (Jan 2019).

    Closer to paying for 2019 than when I paid for 2016, yet we still don't have a 2016 single.

    I think it will have songs from Murphys so it makes sense for the delay... give us a full 4-5 song set from Murphys and we would all love it and be happy

    I personally think each year's single and Deep should be already be in stock and ready to ship Feb 1 of that year.  For example, 2016 single begins shipping 2/1/16 (so those who renew in Jan will ship Feb 1, then those who renew thereafter ship on the date of renewal - just like your bootleg code & membership item).  Be ahead of the game, not years behind.

    That's how other fan clubs I've joined do it (like u2).  They get their annual gift prepped up right at the beginning  of the year.   It works well.   10c seemed to struggled with calling it the Christmas single but not being able to mail it out until months after Christmas.   I'm not sure renaming it the annual single helped as it now comes way after the membership that paid for it.

    I'd be cool if they went with an all out repress all of the past single songs on triple/quadruple 12" vinyl.  I know likely too expensive for the fees we pay, but it's nice to dream.

    Lol.

    People honestly think they have it hard here. Try being a GNR fan for the past ten years. 80, yes EIGHTY dollars a year for the "Nightrain" membership. And you know what people got this year in that "membership?" a lanyard, shirt, lithograph (a little bigger then a business card) and 1 of 3 slipmats (axl, duff or Slash). All of that shipped 7 months after people bought it for the year, and international orders STILL haven't been received. Last year was even worse. You get access to pre-select tickets before general and even credit card on sales, but pretty much no one was able to get pit tickets through the fan club for the run of shows this year. 

    All of this with one album of Axl Rose solo music since the year 1991. The same year Pearl Jam broke into our conscience.
