No Code/ Yield Box Set?

Do you think we'll see a box set? I personally would prefer to wait to get the box set but if they don't make one, I'm just going to get the two vinyls but I have no idea how many of these they are printing.

The person who was working on these for Sony is gone, so they are done with the box sets, unfortunately.

    Link or source for this?

I feel like if they were going to do one they would have done it alongside the reissues.
I personally don't care for boxsets that combine separate albums at all. But I don't begrudge those who do. That said, I never really "got" the ultra extravagant boxsets from PJ. Doesn't really suit them IMHO.

My gut instinct is no. I thought the only reason they didn't reissue the vinyl earlier was because they wanted to do boxsets (if you sell the vinyl first, and release boxsets later, its hard to get people to double dip, so you want to sell them the superior product up front).

I can only imagine they've given up on the boxsets if they are releasing the vinyl independently.

Someone posted a day or two ago that they got a response from 10c after emailing them asking about the box set. 10c said no box set for these.

This. Releasing these is a major cut out of any potential box set sales. The other ones I dont think were huge sellers anyways. Now that anyone and their brother will now own the vinyl... sales of the deluxe box set at that price point will only appeal to the hardcore and the completionists. I dont think the box set would hold much appeal in the general public.

Yep, this was already answered direct from 10c. No box sets.

Ok. So maybe later in the year or early next year we might get Binaural and Riot Act released together / at the same time? Already have a great copy of riot act but Binaural will be sweet!

    Go buy the vinyl!

On a side note- Philly 1 2013 and Philly 2 2016 were both spectacular shows!

Wondering if there will be cd reissues with a bonus or two? Like the Vs-Vitalogy set..
Not technically a "box set" but something special to get us to buy.

Kinda lame. May as well take out all the materials and toss the boxes if there won't be a complete set. They take up a ton of room.

Would take up more if you had to collect one for every album.

    Yep.
I get what Tim's saying too though, even though I don't go for those boxsets - I wish I had Vaults 1 and 2 on vinyl.

My theory is that this years vault is going to be No Code related to make up for the show that would have been with the box sets.

I think all the cool stuff we got in the deep magazine was a fill in for some of the stuff we usually see in a box set.

Sadly no box sets & maybe that has to do with there was not many extra songs/b sides in this period. I can't think of anything on No Code & only Leatherman on Yield. Binaural will be a different story when it is released

    With yield as well hehe
If they sell boxsets in the future it would be a bonus to go along with the other two. I'm mostly concrned on the shipping, hopefully if they do sell them they will release them to the public, so I can get it from amazon- with a free shipping deal.

Oh, I know. But I'd be fine with that if it were a complete set. These look odd stopping at 1994. And by pulling them I'd have room for another 15 records or so.

I may use the boxes as Pearl jam memorbelia boxes for news letters, stubs, and whatnot.

  • i think its unlikely, its a shame as both albums are awesome. but in all honesty i own both previous box sets (ten, vs/vitalogy) and i like them the idea of owning them is good but i dont really use or look at the bonus/extra stuff included with the vinyl

The live vinyl would be the only thing that would interest me in a box set, but that is what the Vault releases are for. Happy there are no more box sets if that means reissues happen at a quicker pace. I just hope the Vault releases continue as well.
