how about start playing "half albums"... Like play No Code Side 2,.. then play a few hits...then go right into Avacado side 1... Seriously,.. this idea may not be half bad... and ya'll can laugh now... I want my props when they start doing this next tour... PS.. very sorry to get off topic here as me personally...set list was pretty solid...
  • You know who's not complaining about this show? Matt Damon, that's who.

So happy this happened, just wish I was there. They can trot out Binaural at any show I attend and I will die happy after the final chords of "Parting Ways" are strummed.

Last night was unreal. What other full albums have been played? Think we could get a No Code Thursday?

Do with this what you will...but they didn't play any songs from No Code or Binaural in Ottawa. They didn't play any songs from No Code last night, either. So...
    I will

Absolutely amazing band. The energy was just incredible.Cannot believe we were treated to Binaural. To echo others who have commented, when I heard Breakerfall start, I felt as if something special was about to unfold and then God's Dice confirmed it.Just mind blowing. So appreciative of how dedicated they are to their craft and fanbase.Donna was epic as well.Completely wailed on her blistering guitar solos!!!

People who don't want to hear "Alive" at a Pearl Jam concert are wayyyyy cooler than me.

Last night was incredibly awesome. They sounded amazing and we all had so much fun! I finally got to hear fucking RIVAL! And it was glorious! Let me Sleep was hilarious, but I guess it felt a bit like Christmas last night. Funnily enough, that was my second time hearing it. Can't wait for tomorrow. I love this band hard

Was at the front of s118 last night. For a Toronto crowd I thought the energy (at least around me) was super weak to start. Lots of causal fans (a few passing around a LastFM setlist which they thought was the standard set for the tour - they were all going to "follow along") - many of them were confused as balls with the binaural set. The "hits" portion brought the crowd into it.

I had 10C tickets and I was shocked at what appeared to be general disinterest. Everyone enjoys live music differently, but it blows my mind the number of fans who spent most of the night with their faces in their phones. The people beside me and behind me chatted loudly all through Let Me Sleep and the couple in front of me left to get beer. WHAT?! Crazy!

I understand the disinterest amongst casual fans, as hearing an unfamiliar album from top to bottom is a lot. My friend is a casual friend who has been to a few shows with me. By the conclusion of Binaural, she only recognized 2-3 songs all night. She didn't care, because as she said, "I don't know the songs, but man, they always put on a great show and I love it every time!" I don't know how a casual fan couldn't have been entertained by most of Binaural. I've always thought most of the album sounded amazing live. Insignifance, Breakerfall, Grievance, and God's Dice rock! NAIS and Of the Girl are sexy as hell, and Light Years is beautiful! Then I heard Thin Air and Parting Ways for the first time!! Amazing!

Anyway, it was a fantastic show! As others have stated, the band sounded incredible and looked like they were having an amazing time. They had to balance the Binaural block with the big hits in the last two sets, but I never mind. Those are the songs that got me into PJ in the first place. And I will never ever tire of either GTF or Corduroy even if I've heard them at nearly every show. They rock!

Were you by any chance in section 121, row 27? I had the exact experience in that section. Specifically, two girls behind me that kept talking through the majority of the concert. Crazy.

I'm an idiot (see my quote below, lol), forgot to give a shout out to Geoff from Cleveland for swapping my spare for a ticket for tomorrow's show, after last night's show, I REALLY can't wait! I also appreciate his (and others) acceptance of my sedate head-bopping and singing, I'm glad others were rocking out as they felt the music flow. As has been said, everyone enjoys the show their own way, and that's the way it should be.

I personally was beyond ecstatic to hear Binaural in its entirety, but the "casual" fans around me didn't seem too impressed. Half way through the set, about 3 or 4 people in front of me left for quite some time and only returned when Eddie picked up the ukulele. My guess is they thought he was about to break into something from Into the Wild, but were disappointed to hear "Soon Forget" instead. haha All in all, I loved the band's energy and I'm really looking forward to Thursday night - however it unfolds. :)

I loved it. The only other one I think I'd want to hear is riot act. Would hate any of the recent 3

I don't give a shit about casual fans... I don't care if people are into it or not... i don't care if people are emailing and texting, just don't put your screen in my face... I don't care if I'm the only person in the building standing... i don't care about sing-a-longs... i don't care if I'm the only person that knows the song or album they are playing... i don't care if a song/album is popular or not... I'm a serious fan and they cant play anything too weird for me, bring it on...

Fantastic show last night. I felt the energy in the building was great. The last time I'd seen the band was in Buffalo 2013, which was a good show, but not the strongest I've seen. Last night's show exceeded my expectations, as I thought the band was really tight and I really enjoyed the set list. Hearing Binaural was great.

The sound for the Go opener was not very good in my opinion - thankfully either the sound was adjusted and/or my ears adjusted:)

So long as everyone is safe, I am not concerned with whether or not casual fans liked last night's show. Actually, I feel there was a near perfect balance between 'rare' songs and the hits.

Can't wait to do it again at the ACC tomorrow. Go Raptors
