Take this with a grain of salt :

Alive Tours (a well known concert excursion company in lisbon) just posted this on their facebook page

Fiquem atentos, pois haverá mais uma surpresa para este Verão! which means "Stay Tuned for there will be one more surprise this Summer!"

I asked them if it was an outside excursion or indoors(meaning in portugal) and they said indoors or they would do the nearest show (which i dont think its possible because the neareest show is italy lol)

Absolutely massive piss-take with those prices. Nice one ten club. I wish I had the money to justify spending that amount on just Ed!

ten club has ZERO to do with prices of concerts.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

Yeah, fair enough - my annoyance was misdirected (sorry ten club, i love you really!). Just wish I could afford to spend $120 on an EV ticket. But i shall eagerly await the general sale!

To an extent. From that exceptionally well written article by the former ceo of TM, promoters offers a specified amount of money to the artist to play. It's then up to the promoter to set prices and what not to put themselves in a position to make a profit on the show. IE they'll go to the band, and say, we'll pay you $500,000 to play this show. Then they handle the rest. Obviously the band could negotiate lower performance fee's to keep the ticket prices down. Like PJ does when they play. PJ tickets are now incredible low compared to the rest of the market (hence the extremely large arbitrage opportunities for scalpers).

For those that have seen Eddie live is it really that hard to get tickets and does Tenclub usually have a decent number of seats?

I'm 172xxx and I had 5th row in NJ. Went to NYC and Philly in regular sale and I was far back for those. It was a bloodbath for tickets! LOL...as always!
ev doesn't do seniority based seating.
Is it random but still Tenclub selected?
It s random and all throughout the venue. It s not like it s the first twenty rows.
    Cool thanks.

If it makes you feel any better, they work out to $165 Canadian for one ticket to a London show. That is about twice the price of the EV show I saw in Seattle 2011. It's the damn exchange rates. For example, I know that if you want to buy a vinyl record in the UK, it's basically the same price as here but in pounds (ie. No Code rerelease is 35 pounds ($58 CAD) on Amazon.co.uk - whereas in Canada it's $35 CAD). Wish I could make it to these shows, but my wife will be 8 months pregnant at the time. The cool thing is, she'd probably want to go, but I think we're going to have to sit this one out and hope for something on the West Coast later in the fall (after baseball season).

happy for those in Europe, but a little bummed that there are no concrete PJ plans yet this year. It'll help us save more, so it's a blessing in disguise, I guess!

Italy already moving down to 86% odds for Price Level 1. If I lived in Europe, this would definitely be the show I'd be applying for too.

Does Ed vary the shows sufficiently to make it worth going to multiple shows like the full band does? Will be my first EV show(s). My son was impatient and was born a few days early so I missed my show in 2011. I remind him of that all the time.

They are somewhat different. Probably interchanges 10 different songs show to show. I would check out the set lists from prior tours. If you have never seen Ed solo than seeing Ed a couple times would not be too repetitive even if playing the same setlist.

I have seen about 8 EV shows and one is enough for me.

If I was traveling to Europe from the US to see Ed...
I'd pick either London or Amsterdam!!
That would give me 2 shows in the same city...
and Ed does tend to mix up the setlist a little more when he has multiple shows in the same city!
The Dublin show would be a good one too...
this one will sell out quick,
because Glen will help pull in the crowds there!!
Hope everyone going has a GREAT time...
I've seen enough EV solo shows until he releases some fresh music!! :rock_on:

I wouldn't want to see EV in a 13,000 seat arena, even with Glen, in Dublin

3,000 seat max is more like it

This place in Sicily looks amazing, congrats to all that are going. We booked a Dublin/London trip earlier this year to see U2 in Croke park. If this was a PJ tour I'd be posed, now I'm only a little jealous. Lol.
