    Reds - only caught a few, on day 1.

    Trout- caught lots.  Love the speckled trout and their action.

    speckled trout look a lot like weakfish to me.  I might be going back out Friday morning.  Fingers crossed.

    Its funny you mention the Sierras. I have fished all over the US and several foreign countries. Only placed skunked? The Sierras. Gorgeous place but no bites.

    Oddly enough we ate none of them on this particular trip.  Many times we do.
    The Reds went home with one guy who left after day 2 to go and be with his son, who was cooking them all up for a feast.
    The trout were split among 3 of the group who were local.  1 liked the whole fish, so they just gutted...and the other 2 got theirs filleted.  
    Guessing some they will freeze.

    I missed the trout fry and red tacos we usually have.
    People bought a bunch of food before and wanted to cook.

    Yeah, it's strange. They stock their lakes with rainbows, so I must be doing something wrong. I need to talk to the people at the bait shop again and maybe they will give up more tips. Last time I went, my buddy got nothing the entire time. At least I got one.

    I saw an old dude sitting by a campsite with two beautiful trout. I said what did you catch them on? He said worms. We had three different kinds of worms and not even a nibble. He winked and said you need one of these.

    lol. Yep I got one of those. I literally tried just about everything. I'm thinking timing must be the biggest problem. Might try and row out the middle of a lake. I did that once in the middle of the day and nothing. Will probably try early morn. Like you said, it's amazingly beautiful up there, so it's still a win.
