GA Lines

What have the GA lines been like so far this tour? How early have people been getting there?

I heard people started lining up FRIDAY morning for the Saturday Greenville show? That's some serious commitment lol. I've got Hampton GA and I'm trying to figure out when I wanna get in line... It's my birthday show so I wanna be close :-P

  • It varies obviously. I was on the rail in Greenville. This was my observation. If you really want rail you should get there pre dawn latest. If you don't mind 3-4 rows back come around 12-2. If you don't mind 5-8 rows get there right when you get your tickets. After that just walk in when the doors open and be 20 feet behind the people who waited all day. That said rail was worth the wait for me. I had an amazing night

Awww I don't think that's it. I think it's a fun idea to camp out and get front row! It's great weather so what's the harm ya know? It's like a once in a lifetime thing to get front row and if you've got the time, why not?

When I was growing up, pre Internet ticket sales, we camped out at ticket locations to try and buy front row tickets. Seems kind of like the same thing to me. Got to see some pretty cool bands up close growing up. This actually seems a little easier for folks. I've also witnessed some abusers of common courtesy back then, same as now. I don't really think anything has changed all that much at all.

For Greenville I went in at 7pm and we were in between ed and stone (closer to stone) about 10 people back or so. For me that worked out great. I got to hang out in the afternoon with some friends and I felt like i was pretty close to the stage.

It would be wild to be on the rail. I just don't think i have that commitment.

I had GA for Cincy a few years back. Went in to show around 730 and stood on Stone's side about 15 people back.

I wouldn't mind being on the rail but I like to drink a few beers and use the restroom.

Anyone have any insight on GA lines for the Toronto shows? I don't need to be rail but would like to at least be first 10 rows or so? Should i get there early or will the trend hold true?

In Jacksonville I showed up at 6 am and got the rail (all the way at the end on Stone's side) as I was about the 55th person in line. In Greenville, I got there at 9:30 pm the night before and was about 20th. I ended up directly in front of Mike.

If you don't like it, just get your reserved ticket and enjoy the show from wherever you want to enjoy the show. Your negative opinion probably isn't needed! :peace:

If people want to wait in line to get the rail, what gives you the right to call that pathetic?

Being with the fellow fans before, during, and after the show.....even in an overnight line.....is half of the experience!
A-fucking-men!! If it's not something you want to do great! Don't do it! It is so much fun to hang out with people before in the line. You have plenty of time to get to know each other which is cool. Then enjoying the show together. You know which songs everybody's hoping for do when they come up you feel so happy for these people who you have become friends with. I don't have the need to wait for rail repeatedly. It's such an amazing experience that everybody should get the chance. I'll still wait for awhile though just to have the experience with fellow fans around me from the pit which is undoubtedly more intense and all-encompassing than a seat where you might be stuck next to someone who's not as excited about the show as you are. It's just more fun in the pit

I admire everyone's willingness to dedicate themselves to getting on the rail. I'm in GA in Columbia and circumstances are going to keep me from doing it myself but if it were left up to me...I'd be down. Who cares what anyone else thinks! Do you!

I always thought it was ridiculous to go that early or even camp out. I honestly would probably never do it but the more i think about the more i see the appeal. I like to get 5 + drinks in me and party with everyone and roll in at 730. But if your not a booze bag and have nothing else to do screw it camp out get the rail and im sure it will be a night you remember forever.

What is the general etiquette on waiting in line?

I am going to have to meet up with my ticket buddy coming in from out of town to pick up our tickets. I will probably need out of line like for a (half hour)?

What about merch? Does anyone do that?

Anyone have any insight on GA lines for the Toronto shows? I don't need to be rail but would like to at least be first 10 rows or so? Should i get there early or will the trend hold true?

As a fellow Toronto fan, I just did some research and I think that us with pit tickets lucked out pretty hard. From looking at the seating charts for various venues, the Toronto pit is like 1/4 the size of all the other venues. For most venues the GA section is equal or larger than the seated floor but for the ACC it's tiny (if the seating chart is true). I tried to dig deeper to see how many rows they have on the floor vs other venues. If memory serves the ACC normally has 40-45 seated rows on the floor and the last row I can find on Stub Hub is 27. So if it goes to 30 then there are just 10 rows that are in the pit.

My understanding is that usually everyone is cool and let's you step out for things like going to pick up your tickets and bathroom or food runs(about half an hour absences). I have heard that it is pretty common for one ticket buddy to do the merch line while the other stays in the GA line. Pretty much the golden rule is be cool with people around you, put in the time but it's not prison.

Pretty sure that the GA in Toronto will be about 1/3 of floor like other venues. That seating map is a generic one the ACC uses. I have tried contacting TM and the ACC to get a "real" one and they just said the band didn't provide one.
