    In roller derby, a whip is an assist technique wherein one skater uses another skater’s momentum to propel herself. For example, a jammer may grab a blocker’s arm, and the blocker will use her power and momentum to pull the jammer forward.

    The cracking sound that a single tail whip makes comes from the mini sonic boom that's created by the Arc traveling along the length of the whip. The whip's pop is a result of the tip of the whip moving beyond the speed of sound and creating a vacuum in space. The air rushing back into the vacuum makes the pop sound.

    So, a form of sonic reducer.

    There is a pop-up British restaurant called Flogging a Dead Horse that serves horse meat. They are very pro-horse meat, and report that it is a delicious, leaner alternative to beef, with a mild, gamey taste, high in iron and omega-3 fatty acids.
