Totally floored that happened. I threw a stack of bandanas up on stage at end of first set, which had a handout from of my sons services, that's how they knew he served. Ed took sign said he'd do it last & then he did. When he brought back sign he handed me a Corona. Best beer I've ever had.

Absolutely blown away. Crowd was great, band was on fire. Arena turned the lights on and staff were cleaning up, but the band didn't care. Stellar show. Can't wait for round 2 by the bay tonight.
Chicago 7/19/2013 Fort Lauderdale 4/8/2016 Miami 4/9/2016
First 7-8 songs were off the charts. Thought we were definitely on to something but the energy seemed to fade with too many avocado, backspacer and lightning bolt songs bunched together in the middle and im not crazy about help help. Overall pretty good show though and not bad for an opener. Love hearing why go before encore and My wife went nuts over surrender. Cant wait for tonight! Expecting it to be epic.
Hell of a night. When Eddie walked out on stage with that crazed look on his face, it was game on
I said exactly the same!!

The three shows ive been to ended with Indifference. I like that song but don't like that they end seemingly every show with it. I think YL is a better way to end a show. Hopefully tonight in Miami they play it.

Was there last night boomhauer to share that powerful moment with you and 12,000(?- I suck with guesstimating crowd sizes) other people. Not sure if you realized it due to your proximity to the stage, but they kept showing you on the big screen during that tune and the emotions on your face permeated the entire crowd. Speaking for all of us, we are grateful for Tyler's service as well as the opportunity to be a part of that song with you. -best, Cory

That story about the tiles in the sink . Gonna be one hell of a tour. There was some sloppy playing for the first night, but that's to be expected. Solid tour opener. Met a lot of nice people.

Wasn't at the show, so I must thank whoever put this on youtube...thanks to that person!!! Go is my favorite opener of theirs.

What shows were those, out of curiosity? I'm under the impression that Indifference tends to end night 1 of a 2 night run which seems appropriate to me, it feels like more of a pause than an end. Since Sunrise and Miami are so close I viewed Sunrise as night 1 of a 2 night run
Nice to see Ed continue to represent The Great One, Roberto Clemente, with his shirt selection. Seems the last trip in to Pittsburgh and Ed's private tour of the Clemente Museum had a profound affect on him.
Awesome show. Expected Pendulum as the opener, but loved GO, it got me and everyone jacked real fast. Great to hear Who You Are. Hearing Patriot for Tyler was a special time in the show. Can't wait until Jacksonville show, which I have GA tix!
Now that I've had some time to process what went down, here's my thoughts on the night.
Got to thank my friend Kevin for scoring the good spot, other than a couple of knuckle heads showing up with green bracelets for free drinks at the doll house (inside joke for Kevin) we were surrounded by good people & while people with signs can be annoying I tried to respect the view of those behind me when I held it up. They all were great after hearing the story behind it.
The set: loved the fast opening. Then we get GTF & that had me cryin like a baby, all I could think of was a pic of Ty in Md over the holidays with his father, where he's near a lake and has his arms wide open looking to the sky. So symbolic to me personally.
Near end of 1st set, the trump mask made it up on stage, at that point I knew I had a shot of getting the 6 bandannas with Ty's memorial info that was given out at the funeral home attached, was hoping it'd make it to Stone, but he bailed right before I threw it and one of the techs grabbed it and some other stuff that made it up there, thought oh well, it probably ended up in a pile side stage and it won't be seen till after the show.
always enjoy hearing footsteps, porch, alive and black.
Last Kiss had me crying once again, for obvious reasons, was tough to hear that, because it references a car wreck and that's how we lost Ty (and his housemate Chad).
Then it got real. As they come out for the 2nd encore, Ed walks over toward us, I'm about 3-5 deep and there are others holding up flags, etc and he keeps pointing back toward my direction as I'm holding the sign. He takes it and gets on the mic to say they'll do it at the end of the night. At that point I'm in shock. They play the 2nd encore, house lights have been on & then there's some confusion, seems rest of the band was ready for indifference & he holds em up to do Patriot.
Since I was a few people deep from the rail, those up front just cleared a spot for me, which was awesome of them to do.
Ed finished and brings the sign back, and when he hands it to me I thanked him and he handed me a corona. The security people freak out and tried to take it from me, then I realize they didn't want the glass over the wall, so they hand me a plastic cup, and held the bottle until end of show.
They finish up and as were filing toward the exit, guy and his younger son (11 or 12 maybe) approach me & the boy hands me an Ed pick, I said I have a couple already from other shows, but he insisted I take it, (turns out he has gotten Jeffs wristbands, so he just wanted to pay it forward). -- I appreciate that little man.
I call my wife to fill her in on what just happened, and had to hang up on her because Rob from PJ Radio stopped me to ask about the sign, so look out for that in the coming days.
Needless to say it was one emotional night that I won't ever forget. The emotional ups and downs of the night were symbolic of how we raised Ty, our family were regulars at the theme parks and I think it's fitting we're experiencing these feelings, since we all loved roller coasters.
Ty's older sister is in Maryland so she has only been able to see what happened by video, but she was so thankful Ed mentioned Ty before playing Patriot, I told her now she knows why we fans love the band so much.
Thanks to everyone that made this night so special.

Incredible story. Obviously horrendous in its bittersweetness. Very, very sorry for your loss, but it's amazing how something you love and are passionate about got to be a portion of your healing process. We were there front and center, second row from the rail, and the song was heartbreaking with the back story.

My wife and I got to the venue at 4pm the day before the show and camped out and met so many amazing people... We had such a blast.... People from all over the world.. The sense of community and family and community on the GA Line was great... The anticipation that built from that experience I found to be extremely climactic to the moment the band hit the stage..It was the ultimate pre-party! There were not as many people as I had imagined. My wife and I were number one in line in both FTL and in Miami and by Sunrise the day of the show there were not more than a dozen or so people at either show.
The show itself was a great tour opener..
Go with the album intro.. Help Help ( not one of my favorites) but it was played so tightly and aggressively for a tune not often played and for opening night that I was floored! Deep was frickin Intense Nothingman was awesome!

Wow. That was an emotional thing to read. So happy to have been there with you, and thanks to Ty for his service.
Great time at show last night, a lot more energy than Ft Lauderdale. Show 60 something for me don't keep exact track. Was one of my favs. 1st set was excellent. Jeremy was ridiculous. Finally got to see my 1st daughter w/It's OK tag! I'm a happy boy.
I'd been in GA before in Cincinnati in 2014 and Moline in 2014, but both of those I had to walk in at roughly the door time because my +1s couldn't wait in line all day. But for FTL, my wife agreed to bite the bullet with me one time to make sure we were front and center, either on the rail or close to it. She's a fan, and she's a Ten Club member, but she's also content to buy a seat and relax and enjoy the show, because let's face it – this whole waiting 12 hours to be on the rail thing can be a little bit of work.
We wound up in front of Ed, second row. We both wore our Roberto Clemente Museum "21" shirts kind of hoping Eddie might wear it to open the tour like he did in Cincinnati in 2014. When he did, everyone around us let up a big cheer, and he definitely noticed and pointed our way a couple times early on for the shirt factor.
We also had a sign asking them to play "Smile" in celebration of us being together 20 years this week. I'm not normally a bring-a-sign-to-a-show type of guy. But this was a unique situation. They didn't play it ... but Ed pointed us out and mentioned us being together 20 years. After that started to happen, I kind of lost track of stuff. I may have blacked out for a bit under the excitement of what had just happened. I think I might have touched my heart and given him a peace sign in response. I may have put my arm around Kerry. I also may have made all of the poopies in my pants. When you make a sign, you hope it gets read. I don't suppose you think about what you'll do if it DOES get read.
It'll be hard to trump that moment. And I think I remember the set was OK, too.

It did kinda sound like the beginning of Why Go didn't it... Almost like a tease for the eventual set closer to come.. Very nice
