A sturdy poster tube costs $3.00 and USPS Priority mail costs up to $12.40 depending on zip code.

Of course, I'm sure Ames also packs with a sheet of Kraft paper too...so add $0.25.

Ames uses quality tubes similar to the S-14048 which are 3" in diameter with a 125" thick wall.
They cost $2.45 each plus tax if they buy 50 or as cheap as $2.13 plus tax if they buy 1,000 tubes at a time.
So Ames' cost is closer to $2.50 each than $1.00.
Oh yeah, plus the cost of kraft paper.

My last Ames poster was shipped in a thick corrugated piece of plastic pipe, not a cardboard tube.

The fucking PJ vs Ames collage posters they wrinkled them up getting them in the tube and didn't put kraft paper. Transformers didn't even have end caps just tape. I don't think they're worried about cutting corners. Sounds like the collage posters were a disaster from everyone who ordered them and they blamed it on pre-Christmas hired help. Good thing they were only $35 and not $225 lol.

Well, then it's obvious that I haven't bought anything from Ames lately...unless you count ordering pagliacci's pizza.

I wanted a poster, they were gone by 4pm in the merch truck, and those merch lines inside Rupp were ridiculous..... Took me 45 minutes before the show to get a beer.

Ames posters for me have always arrived in tip top top shape, the one time one was slightly damaged they partially refunded me, I've had nothing but great experiences.

I had one damaged on the side of the print from Ames, and they exchanged it for a mint one after it was sold out! They said they had someone back out of a purchase. Very cool I must say.

in talking with the driver of the merch truck he said that through Columbia there were 1200 posters per show.. so 1800 for this big of a concert seems to fit the mold..
