The amount of folks walking around Chicago with what seemed to be loads of merch was just stunning. Five tubes seemed to be the norm, and bags full of goodies. Things that make you go hmmm...
The merch scene has totally jumped the shark, for sure.
Shitting on people who partake in the merch scene has become a big time cliche around here too, let's be honest.
Sure, a lot of people take it too far, (Stop bitching if you don't get the poster you want, THAT is when the merch becomes more important than being at the actual show!) & I get the whole "I would never wait X amount of hours" thing, that's cool. Some people would, no big deal.
Is it materialistic? Yeah, probably, but IMO there are a lot worse things you can be in life.
The secondary market is an unfortunate byproduct of the demand....... Flippers suck, don't buy if you have that much of a problem with it.
It is highly likely that a serious poster collector has 5 tubes with 1 poster per tube. Since there are 5 posters for this show, it seems people may be overreacting a bit.

At merch stand on addison/sheffield, already about to wrap around the corner. If anyone is ay the other stand and wants to agree on a poster trade... I just want the klausen, whoever gets there first.
Good luck to everyone out there today, just looked at the weather radar and it looks like some storms are headed in.

So basically, everything is terrible.
Nah, sorry if that's how it came across. I guess when you're letting the merch scene get in the way of your enjoyment of the show then it's terrible. Otherwise, who cares?
We were in line yesterday for about 3 hours. It was a long wait but got to chat with a few very nice fellow 10C members. Got one of each poster, couple of shirts, tote, stickers and pins. They had a lot of stuff left when we finished so I hope everyone can get what they want today and tomorrow.
I wish I was an alien at home behind the sun..... I wanna race..with the sundown..I want a last breath..I don't let out...
Supposed to pour like this for the next 2-3 hours.....
Where is that line, BTW? Thanks for the recon!
Big tent seminary and waveland. Bring umbrella poncho and patience. Line out of the black snake organizer thing and around the corner. Not sure how far it extends down the street

Thanks! Horrible question on my part - I know where the tent is, I'm sorry. I was curious how long the line was... hoping that line dwindles (wishful thinking, right?) by time I get there around 11:30 ....
or you can come to terms and realize you're the only one who can forgive yourself oh yeah... makes much more sense to live in the present tense...
