I just might vote for Trump

It would be refreshing to have someone in charge who is not a politician, who is not a polished spokesperson, who is not indebted (obligated) to any particular person/place/or cause.

I have thought this for sometime before he came on the scene. It would be nice to have someone who speaks for themselves and does not rally the crowd based on some scripted bullshit that somebody else actually wrote and is actually expected to be said and which actually makes my eyes roll around so hard (so hard) so hard. (aka blah blah blah stfu)

Mind you, I would definitely vote for Keith Richards over Trump. Or even Jack Black maybe.

unfortunately, tho, they aren't running.

But Trump is.

wait, what is my one other choice? Hillary?
Well, at least I still have time to decide ......

So, refreshing is the term you use for someone openly displaying racism, xenophobia, bigotry, and misogyny?
I call it bullshit. My alcoholic, asshole of an uncle "speaks his mind" too, do you want to write him in??

Trump specifically aside, I get the sentiments of the OP, of the desire for a break from the political norm.

*edit - by political norm, referring to how campaigns and its puppets are run.

    I agree as well.
Trump speaks so much to fear and division and hatred, it would be nice if someone came in with a nice Dalai Lama style approach lol

Why is it that the internet can join forces to name a 9-figure boat ‘Boaty McBoatface’, vote in a goon to play in the NHL all star game, give a Rick Astley video 200,000,000 hits 30 years after it first sucked etc etc….but we can’t get a campaign going to write in a capable candidate when the parties refuse to give you one?

This country needs a moderate - Trump is the polar opposite of Clinton, plus he has no actual plan for anything. He just shoots his mouth and people think he should be president. He won't be elected. The turnout will be historic and his 'people' are a fraction of the overall population. Youth vote will see to it a Dem is in the WH again - which isn't really what our country needs. Just like the Supreme Court, that has to be a balance. Can't have one side having all their agenda items met. Not what our country was founded on. OP, a vote for Trump is your decision - if you respect his 'anti-establishment' ways bare in mind that's all the substance he has. When it comes time to deal, he won't have a clue on what to do next.

    Hence my initial phrase!

Agree with you on your balance comment...and so tired of sides and agendas but it seems those ways have bled beyond politics. It's just how many live and see things now.

I will only vote for Trump if he promises to NUKE THE BORDER!

agree but do you have a capable candidate willing to endure the bs to be President?

you might have answered your own question indirectly ...

it's not the choices that are the problem ... it's the electorate ... is it any wonder that a populace that prioritizes things that you wrote have Donald Trump as a potential POTUS!?

Can you write in any name? I say fuck it....write in Rick Astley and have the election declared invalid (however that would work). Throw the whole system into disarray until the politicians get their shit together.
I have always maintained that real change cannot happen in baby steps. It would take centuries. It won't happen until the western based world economy completely falls apart and the average citizens of the west begin losing their houses and jobs en masse. The electorate will not give a shit until we are made to live like the third world. At some point this will happen....it is already slowly happening. We're just being buttered up for a fall guy (Islam atm) so the cycle of using war when we need an economic boost can continue. This cycle will end when the government asks for war funding and half the country is already homeless, or when the BRICS nations decide to stand their ground....or the planet decides to shake us off.
Yes, I'm a cynic. But I think my cynicism is grounded in reality.

the union is backing Clinton but I just can't so it will either be Sanders or Trump......I don't where Trump stands on union issues but being a business man he may not like unions so much.
and I just need to play this silly ass game with the union and the company 10 more years and I out !

I dunno, but I think Boaty McBoatface is a spectacular name for a boat, lol.

Sorry, but the minute Trump hesitated on David Duke with a hint and a nod, that was enough to become a benign joke to people with any sort of morality.
