your average trump voter's reply to a posted fact is "yeah, but....insert generic "but he is not a politician he speaks his mind" excuse here...
All the people (most) on this train are against media brainwashing agendas, control etc
Yet here we have a person who does not follow the guise the media wants you to believe and instead of bewilderment you get disgust.
who should feel bewilderment? who should feel disgust?
the media has gone to sleep on trump. they let him walk all over the media instead of calling him what he is. they have given him hundreds of millions of dollars worth for free advertising. they have made him what he is. a responsible media would have deliberately minimized his candidacy instead of inflating it.
Catch up may be too late for the media.
the media has emboldened him.
the media is responsible for him.
they could have buried him a long time ago.

This seems quite plausible. If that happens, what kind of madness do you suppose the losers in such a scenario would respond with? I kinda shudder to think about it.gimmesometruth27 said:

I said earlier that Easter with my family was going to be hard . . . It was worse than predicted.
I am truly terrified about what's happening in this country. Two brothers and a nephew talking about how there's going to be a war in this country because they're sick of liberals running things. They were as serious as the day is long, talking about guns a-blazing if Trump doesn't win.
Then I had to listen to how Obama is going to declare martial law, cancel the election, and then crown himself king. Then, after he's finished being king, he's going to be the next Secretary General of the UN, where he's been trying to make guns illegal in the US under international law, and then let all the Muslims he's been letting in declare a caliphate. When I asked my brother to please provide evidence that any single American has lost his guns because Obama's secret police took them away, he actually told me "You can't base your argument on reality. You have to see into the future." Okay.
Then Hillary, of course, should have been hung for treason years ago because of the thousands of people she's secretly had killed. But of course it's not so much of a secret that my brother knows it's a fact.
Lastly, anybody who votes for Bernie Sanders should be shot. So of course I said "Go ahead, take aim, I voted for Bernie." And that's when the shouting began. Up until then, I kept my peace, but I drew the line there because IT IS NOT OKAY IN AMERICA TO THINK WE SHOULD SHOOT PEOPLE BECAUSE OF WHO THEY VOTE FOR, and I had had enough with the violent tone of the conversation. So my tone became violent too . . . because where else do you go when reason fails?
My poor grand nephew, who is only four, was later found cowering on the stairs scared out of his wits by the grown ups at the table. I feel so bad for scaring him. He had no idea what was going on, but he knew it wasn't good.
It's past time for making jokes about these zealots. We need to stop laughing about it and figure out how to fix it. Anyone who thinks the media is over blowing this Trump Train needs to come meet my family for one half hour. It's totally real, and as I pointed out at the table today, if there's going to be a war, it will be because they start it. At least at that point there was a recognition of truth in their faces. They didn't deny that point.
I truly fear election day come November. We will not have a peaceful election in 2016.0 -

I don't get it. The majority of people around here loathe a lot of faucets of govt. In fact they go as far as suggesting that all levels of govt are corrupt and you are left with picking your poison.
I fail to see where Donald Trump would be corrupt? He is not part of the establishment yet.
What are you guys afraid of if Trump wins? What will his govt do to you personally that will cause you hardship?

Um, if the arrows are pointing up at me, I never said Trump is any more or less corrupt than anyone else.PJfanwillneverleave1 said:^^^

I'm actually not afraid of Trump winning. None of the shit he proposes will happen because he won't get any of it through.
1. Mexico won't pay for a wall
2. Law enforcement can't handle the mass deportarions.
3. Congress won't pass corporate tax breaks to bring jobs home, and even if they did, corporations won't bring jobs home because even with tax incentives, they won't pay for labor. So there's that.
4. Does Trump stand for anything else? Oh yeah, protecting social security and expanding health care. He's for that. But those silly Republicans in Congress won't have it.
5. China embargo? Not gonna get through Congress.
6. Torture as foreign policy? Our military has too much integrity for it to become their policy, and our CIA tried it once. Didn't go over well. Probably not going to happen again, but if it does, well, meh, war is war, so you turn your head. It's never pretty
7. The Supreme Court? Well, I was surprised to learn that his sister is a Clinton appointed federal judge. Strange bedfellows. He likes Planned Parenthood, has said this election that they've helped a lot of women, and I'm pretty sure he's lying about his current pro-life position. So the court is probably safe with Trump.
So . . . Sure. I agree a Trump presidency will be relatively harmless. Now Cruz, that's another matter . . .
My point, my dear, is not that I fear Trump. I fear the crazy assholes who support him, my own family included. I heard with my own ears a group of men who all own guns saying they will openly contest a lost election with firearms. They said people like me should be shot for simply casting a vote according to my beliefs. They vomited one conspiracy theory after another because they can't stand having a Muslim n***** for a president, and Hillary is a lesbian c***. These are the people I fear and feel down right ashamed to be associated with in any way. Sorry it gets your panties all tied up in a wad, but for some reason or another, this is the group of people getting your man elected. I guess in your mind, the end justifies the means. The only hope I could have is that if he does get elected, they will all go crawl back under their rock when Trump let's them down because he too will be a completely insignificant president. We'll just hope they don't swarm the White House with their shot guns when the failed presidency occurs.

Yes the arrows were up at you. It was a generalization that many people think he will be corrupt in fact that he already is. Not you specifically.
All your points 1-7 are pretty harmless in terms of himself as a candidate. They are just facts.
(They vomited one conspiracy theory after another because they can't stand having a Muslim n***** for a president, and Hillary is a lesbian c***. These are the people I fear and feel down right ashamed to be associated with in any way
That's pretty twisted and sick if they feel that way. Not sure how you think all his supporters feel the same way though. Certainly not millions.)
Trump in office will be just that, another day at the office with the same problems in the world.
He did mention that he would raise visa fees on Mexicans to help pay for the wall.Post edited by PJfanwillneverleave1 on0 -

Pretty hard to debate this. Trump phones it in now.
None of the news shows have done phoners with Cruz, John Kasich, Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders, said Media Matters, which is urging that the practice be discontinued. Cruz and Clinton declined ABC's invitation to speak by phone or in person for the network's most recent Sunday program.
The activist group MomsRising said the disparity "sends the message that some candidates can play by different rules, without consequences, and that's just un-American." A study by mediaQuant and The New York Times estimated that Trump has received the equivalent of $1.9 billion in free advertising given the media attention paid to his campaign.

I'm more and more convinced there's no need to argue with Trump supporters- at least regarding the elections- because they are a fringe element. The best think to do is walk away or change the subject.
I have met very few Trump supporters and I live in the second most conservative county in California. I guess you could say Donald Trump must not appeal to many conservatives. So who do they appeal to? Beats me.
I recently talked presidential politics with a couple of long-time Republican friends- you know, the type that think Reagan was great, don't care for Obama, etc.- and I asked them what they thought about Donald Trump and his run for presidency. They said they think he's a joke and both believe he would make a terrible president. They talked about their party is in ruins. They know a democrat will be elected this year. They are very discouraged. Though not in line with their political persuasions, I was empathetic toward them.
I suggested that what we really need is a head of state rather than a "president"- somebody who is smart, kind, honest and caring, a person who is charismatic, a good speaker and someone who would represent us in a way that make us look and feel good, bring us up from the dumps and set an example. Someone who would motivate us to be the best people we can be, to motivate us to work hard and well and to feel good about what we do."It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -
Please tell that to the Trump violent protesters!brianlux said:I'm more and more convinced there's no need to argue with Trump supporters- at least regarding the elections- because they are a fringe element. The best think to do is walk away or change the subject.
