Is it time to hit Stubhub?

I was hoping to not have to get my tickets thru them but tickets for MSG seem to be scarce. What everyones opinion on this? Or if anyone has extra MSG tickets please think of me.

I would wait till the day before or even day of the show for stub hub. The majority of stub-hub tickets are e-mailed to you electronically so there is no need to worry about receiving them on time. Keep checking TM each morning as the shows approach for ticket drops. Avoid scalpers as fake tickets can be very hard to spot until they are scanned by event staff.

You're going to have to be actively looking at the boards, in the last two weeks I've been able to score MSG 1 and Toronto 2 for face from some awesome 10c members. I'm not sure if posting an ISO and then hoping for someone to PM you is going to work for everyone.

The time is not yet right for stubhub. I'm holding on. For now.

And yes, I'm on the board several times a day, hoping to stumble upon tickets for MSG1, but I'm looking for a pair and they currently seem as rare as a snowball in hell, packed with hen's teeth, in the bowl of the Grail.

I believe Abraham Lincoln once said, wait until the day of the show for the ticket DROP.

Or was that Mike D that said it?

Either way, line up the day of the show and see if they release some tickets to the public.

    And the #1 rule?

Don't "demand" a specific section or area. Be happy with what you get. You're in the building and someone else isn't. I know that's easier said than done, but it holds true. Someone else would really love that rafter seat, so be happy you have it...especially for MSG.

  • I've seen some on stubhub for right around face, maybe $10 over. They were side stage second level. They are no longer there, but do pop up on there.
  • Available tickets tickets on stubhub have been rising. Everything is pricey these days so if you see seats within your range...grab them

Not to mention once they are in hand, nice weight off your shoulders

  • Face value with fees is $104. I've seen quite a few seats at $115 on stub. With fees your at $140. Really not bad to be $40 over face to be in the building and have peace of mind

I bought my MSG 2 off StubHub right after the first ticket drop. 15 rows back, side stage. $30 over face. If there's another drop and you miss it, go straight to StubHub. At least a few decent deals will pop up.

Plus friends don't usually cancel on their other friends until a few days before the show. That's where true fans try to sell their tickets at face because their friend got sick or couldn't get off, etc...

I know this is different circumstances but I read somewhere that 2013's tickets never came down in price. I hope its different for those that are still looking this time but if a good deal comes up I would snatch it now in a heart beat.
  • You're better off buying at the show
  • Missed out on 4 stubhub tix - section C2 for Fenway - Friday this afternoon.
    Were $275 ea.
Bit the bullet tonight and dropped $1650 for 4 in C2 tonight.
Prob overpaid by $200 but wasnt going to risk an increase after field seats began to get gobbled up.

I don't know why anyone would go to stubhub at this time, or right after they miss the initial on sale. Go back on this board to read threads while a tour is on, for most shows there are extras day-of-show. There are also drops for most shows on ticketmaster. Tickets usually at least stay the same price on the secondary market, if not get cheaper.

I agree with you but in our case we have a ton of $ tied up already since were staying 3 nights and going to both shows. For Friday we really wanted seats on the field and while I see plenty of reg seats opening up and prices dropping, I think its unlikely field seats drop below $275- $300ea esp 4 tix together.

Id rather overpay a little now and know we have seats. If I didnt care where I sat I would DEFINITELY buy day of.

    Some things to consider:

1.) MSG is a harder ticket than most, with lots of fakes and dupes floating around
2.) Ticket drops for NYC usually get eaten by scalping bots
3.) Fake tickets appear on reseller sites, including stubhub. there are horror stories from the EV NYC shows a few years back
4.) Ticketsnow is Ticketmaster, so if it's got that like gold star by ticket, at least you know it's good
5.) Waiting to the last second is not some pearl jam board secret and there are probably at least a few hundred people on here alone looking to do just that

If you see seats you want at price you are willing to pay, I would go for it. You don't want to be kicking yourself night of the show because you didn't get the seats you wanted.

Great post. 100% true. Don't wait too long , especially for MSG you will just be let down OR paying higher than you would of earlier.
