When Andrew Sullivan was blogging he would often compare the GOP vs Obama to Wily Coyote vs the Roadrunner. The Republicans continue to set up elaborate roadblock traps that Obama runs through with ease. Really feels like this is another such "meep meep" moment.

i understand their frustration. they have not been on the right side of a single issue for 7 years. they have done their best to hamstring him, and he always prevails.

i am calling mcconnell's office later today and demanding a hearing. i am saying i am a lifelong republican and a donor and his obstructionism and failure to lead in the senate has made me vote for hillary and against my republican senator in november. won't help, but at least i will try to grease the wheels a bit. if enough people call and threaten him, he might cave.

It's not a bad plan. So infuriating to know how thoroughly cut out of the process left-leaning voters have become.

I emailed Pat Toomey's office here in PA with something similar. He is up for reelection against a couple popular Dems too.

There is a movement here in Louisville in which people are doing just this thing so you'll be in good company!
