Im Staying at Loews in City Center. A local in the forum recommended it. Check out "Philly Roll Call 2016" early on after people got tickets. http://community.pearljam.com/discussion/248968/philly-2016-roll-call/p7

  • Loews is a great hotel that convenient to the Broad Street line...really anything near city hall is perfect to catch the train to the show

Holiday inn is walking distance from shows. But prob super expensive.

I'm staying there and the rooms are about $100 more a night then when I booked. When i hear a pretty solid rumor i fly with it. As long as there is no cx fee! But keep a look out. The prices change a lot and they may go down.
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!
  • I don't need a hotel for Philly I'm a local, I need one for nyc.
  • I just realize the shows are during Spring break, that means I can bring my family over and spend a couple of days in Philly before getting back to NYC.

Problem is... I waiting too long and hotel prices are through the roof. Same with Airbnb. Any ideas?

    Thx

I booked holiday inn after I won the lottery for night 2 but before the public on sale. Booked thurs and Friday for like 500 total, not cheap but figured they'd Jack it up even more later which they did. A few days ago it was like 750 for the two nights. There was no cancellation fee so figured it was worth it, even if I ended up not being able to get tickets for night 1, I could cancel Thursday night. Luckily I was able to get a pair for night 1 at public on sale.

  • Thank you all.

We stayed at the Radisson Warwick in '09 for the Spectrum shows and again in '13.

We have a 2 month old now, things are different (financially speaking). Back then I think we paid less than $150 per night (Spectrum was $129 iirc, 10c special).

At this point I can't justify spending $500+ for two nights. The alternative would be to stay a little outside of the downtown area but with a newborn that's calling for a disaster...

I'll just commute from NYC and introduce little Liam to cheesesteaks at some other time.

Thanks again for all the input.

I booked Holiday Inn a long time ago and it was still $473 (tax inc.) for 2 nights. Figure I'm saving on parking each night and any travel from other hotels so I was good with it. Walking distance for the 2 shows to me is gold.

I'm staying at the Penn's View Hotel. Got it for about $160 before the tour was announced. It looks like a decent place. 5 miles to the show and will probably just drive so I can hit up some tailgating.

And it's walking distance to Sonny's for a cheese steak!
  • No rooms available at the Penn's View. It's ok. Thanks all

In 2013 I stayed at the Penrose Hotel - I think it was called the Skyview then. Not the greatest place but I walked to the shows and met a few fans there. It looks like it has availability.

I don't think so. It says on my reservation parking is included. You have to be on some list or something,,,,
what I mean is there is free parking for 1 car for each room. Your name has to be on hotel check in roster.

Hmm I booked through Expedia never asked me anything about it. For $550 for two nights I'd hope that would include the right to park in front of the building.

I stayed at the Alexander Inn last time around, and it was convenient public transportation to everything. I have only been there once, but would likely do the same next time around depending on the venue.

I see when you go to book holiday inn now using their site they have a free parking advanced purchase option for like $3 dollars more than the regular rate. Not sure how you can purchase free parking for $3 but that's what it says. I've read that they do charge for parking on nights of events for people that are staying there even. How that works with when I booked it, I'm not sure. Perhaps I will call them.

Calling sounds like a good idea. I was under the impression I had free parking. And they encourage tailgating. Will even pick up your garbage for you. I read that on a review for the hotel.

Just check their website says 1 complimentary parking spot per room until 11am check out. Guest must pay for any additional spots ranging from 10-$50 per spot. oh well looks like my friends that are coming one night each will have to pay, sucks for them.

Anyone with extra cars drive down the block towards the Chickies and petes south philly and park on the streets. It's A two second drive and a 10 minute walk to stadium. But don't park in Chickies parking lot your shit will be towed. Safe neighborhood, free parking
I park in this area myself when I go to games sometimes and walk it's very easy and saves you 20+ bucks
