Where to stay in Chicago?

Going to one of the Wrigley Field shows and have no idea about hotel. We want to spend a couple a days in the city, see the sights. What area/ hotel is good?

Cab or red line to Wrigley.

So what's the last on places to stay... Where are you staying if you are coming to Chicago? Downtown or closer to wrigley field??
