Wrigley Hostel - basically it's like a dorm room, but it's just a stone's throw from Wrigley Field.

I was considering Days Inn - it was still available Sunday, but come Monday morning --- fully booked.

I ended up booking at a B&B located in Boystown

I booked the Days Inn last Saturday - glad I did now.. after 2013 there was no way I was staying more than walking distance from Wrigley; the train after the show was CRAZY.

City suites. Just like in 2013

How was that? That's where I booked a room.

After booking it I realized that they seem to push the whole "Boystown" experience. Not that there is anything wrong with that but it did make me wonder if my wife and I might get looked at like "why the hell are you here?"

I've googled "boystown" and something in Nebraska came up. What's the "boystown" experience?

I've requested a studio AirBnb near Lakeshore just in case I have to walk back after the show.

It's a recognized gay village. And as I said...I have no problem with that.

I usually stay in the loop when I visit Chicago. I used to get lucky on Priceline and get the Hyatt Regency for $150/night but I haven't been able to do that the last few times I have visited.

I picked the City Suites because it is like a half mile from Wrigley and seemed to be decent. It's right on the red line so it will be easy to get back and forth from the loop.

Hmm. I did not know that. And agree, no problem with that. I am so oblivious to anything around me unless it has PJ on it when I am in my happy PJ tour zone. =)

So I assume it was a pretty decent place since you are going back right? Not too much noise from the train?

I'll be at the Days Inn
  • If I remember right..drink.drink.puff...it was ok. Definitely your old city hotel next to the tracks. I do not remember the train making that much noise. Of course rolling in at 3:00 am helps pass out and sleep through it. Was it the Drake?, no, but it worked. Seemed clean and nice. I remember getting lost with 2 freaking huge bags of PJ merch from hitting the merch line at 6:00 am. Got lost walking around. Lost buddies. Think I walked 10 miles in circles around hotel. Got lots of weird looks stumbling around with garbage bags of PJ shit. But the walk to Wrigley is a fun walk and close. Wife and I are from the area but moved away a long time ago. Can't fukn wait until August!

(of course I partied on State Street in MADcity my whole life)

My first choice was Days Inn - I knew that I am going to go even if I didn't win the lottery, didn't really know why I waited it out... Should be interesting, I wanted to stay within walking distance from Wrigley. Found what I believe to be decent Flights and Accomodation rates from Toronto to Chicago - Villa Toscana is the B&B located at N. Hastead
Coincidentally my girlfriend and I would also be staying at The Hotel of South Beach for the FtL/Miami shows, turns out it's hotel one of the top "gay-friendly" hotels in SoBe

When I saw FF last August, I found my place and it was alright - The Getaway Hostel ;)
    http://www.getawayhostel.com/

I got my own private room (shared bathroom) and it came out to little more than $100/night.

Walking distance from the red line (Fullerton Station), just a few stops down the line from Wrigley. Perfect. Also, since it is near DePaul University there are bars and eateries open late at night (My brother stayed downtown and the only thing open past 8pm in the tourist district was TGI Fridays. Blech.) The place to hang near the hostel is the Red Lion Pub. The proprietor is a friendly guy who'll share local info such as the history of the Biograph Theater across the street, where John Dillinger was shot. The half-timbered English themed interior was decorated with artwork by his grandfather, produced during his time as a POW of the Germans. Cool stuff, check it out.
  • I'll be at ACME Hotel Company. Going to both shows!
