BERNIE if they're going to really back up what they've been saying all these years

Yes, that is true. If they still believe what they always preached and what their music says, anyway. We have good reason to think that may not be the case though. Plus most of that might only really apply to Eddie.

For what it's worth, it looks like a bunch of their friends are supporting Bernie. Uncle Neil, Roger Waters, RHCP, Cat Power

    And Flea. Right on, Flea!

Who knows about Ed and PJ. Their endorsement would be nice and would make sense but remember, many people go soft when they get older. Those who don't just get that much tougher and the young keep making the waves big anyway. Thank you Youth Energy!

    Make America Great Again!

And make the band pay 90% tax

    Shoots, was that bi-polar?

    I meant

Make America Great Again and champagne liberals volunteer their money to free stuff
  • brianluxbrianlux Posts: 42,038
The band won't support Bernie because Bernie wants to make everything FREE and then PJ would have to make their records, shows, merchandise and fan club FREE. Of course if they DID support Bernie and PJ made everything FREE then maybe the Bernie haters would grow to love Bernie.

Sorry folks, it's just the FREE radicals floating around in my brain that make me say stuff like this. :dizzy:

Aside from Eddie being into Obama in 2008, have they ever specifically endorsed a presidential candidate? Tester in the Senate, but that was more about his connection to Jeff. VFC in 2004 was more anti-Bush than pro-Kerry. Eddie in 2000 with Nader I guess. Just seems like they may not weigh in as often as we think.

Well, there was Obama's seeking a second term, and winning quite easily. I don't know, this time around just seems to be different for our presidential election. I can't see Ed not speaking to it when he's on this tour, especially on his "2-bottle" nights.

    Thinking back to 2008...

During the June tour Eddie was playing No More and speaking about Tomas Young almost nightly, but I don't remember much dialogue about the candidates.

In August at his solo shows, different story. Eddie had an Obama banner and a bit worked out to get it on stage.

I think at some point we may see Eddie endorse but I'm not as sure we'll see the full band do so.

I think maybe they have given up on endorsements probably having something to do with 25 years of touring worldwide and having a definitive answer to another threads topic.
