Saw them last year on the Plainsong tour. it was right before Jimmy rejoined for the Manson tour.
I enjoyed the performance at the theater more than the bigger stage. They played rare songs, electro, acoustic and rocked out. It will be even better with Jimmy on board. Liz Phair opening is just icing on the cake.
I am going to the Columbus show. anyone else going?

I believe it was some acoustic and some electric last year. And a number of rare songs thrown in. Even a few songs from Zwan and his solo album.

    Loved zwan!!
Same here! Spun the record over the weekend, very very good!
  • 70-80 dollars CAD for Toronto. Thats pretty much right at the limit I'd have set. Our dollar blows but looks like I'll go

Not surprising....the guy is an egotistical douchebag. Unless there's some sort of miracle and the original lineup reunites, zero interest in see this watered down version of the pumpkins.
Your a Chicago guy..support your local artist. At least for what he gave with gish..Siamese Dream..and Mellon Collie. Next to PJs first 3 can you name 3 better to start a career?

Siamese Dream is equal to ten
Completely agreed. Can't have a much better start to a career than those first 3 albums. Siamese Dream is one of my all time favorites. I saw the pumpkins plenty of times back in the day....I just don't have much urge to go see them anymore.

  • I grabbed my single for Toronto. 82.50 Canadian for good seats and 72.5 for less good. Only ten bucks difference, scored front row of the balcony which is the middle tier. I'll be on the side, close, looking down on Jimmy with nobody in front of me, can't complain. There was an 18 dollar ticket fee (seriously?) and 1.50 for the mail. But whatever, I'm going. Got a rad seat for my favourite drummer. Gonna be fun!

saw them at the club in my town back in 2007 during the residency. seeing Jimmy up close in a small venue is an amazing experience.

Agreed. his voice sounds excellent in this setting...

Anyone see the setlists for the first few shows? I'm really happy with them so far, looking forward to Toronto.
And James Iha went up and played like half the concert with them in LA! The real James Iha! I was so happy. And Billy apparently sang happy birthday to him which was great to hear. Always happy to hear when people can mend their relationships

I doubt D'Arcy would have anything to do with it. she's a recluse now, and pretty sure she hates BC. Although, I thought BC and JI hated each other too.

I believe she had spoken to billy more recently than James but obviously that is in doubt after James came on stage with them
  • Mignelli14Mignelli14 Posts: 626
Really impressed with the show last night. They all sounded amazing and Billy actually spoke to the crowd, played along with them, and even hi-fived some people walking around at the end of it. Sitting right over top of Jimmy was an amazing experience for me, I was the closest person to him. Liz Phair was pretty good too!
Much better than last year's tour, the intimate setting does make a huge difference

D'arcy isn't remarkable in anyway. Not sure why her presence in the band is so significant to fans. I'd rather have a great bassist than a familiar face who was unremarkable.

  • Tim SimmonsTim Simmons Posts: 8,079
If I'm being host, IMO this band lives and dies with BC. The downward trajectory has more to do with his songwriting not being as great as it used to be, but it just so happened to correlate with the the band reforming without half of the original members, so it was something obvious to point to as what was wrong, when actually it isn't.
