The 2006 show in Hartford was mediocre. Probably due to the cold rainy day and the fact the band went nuts the night before in Albany.

They made up for it in 2008!
    And even more in 2010!
You think? I didn't go to 10 but on paper I'd take 08 any day.
I've been listening to the 08 boot a lot lately... forgot how incredible of a show it was!
06 was my first show so it will always have a very special place in my heart, even though I was on the lawn in the cold rain with frat boys peeing in the mud near my feet ;)

I prefer indoor shows over outdoor shows. 2010 was awesome!
I can see that. Loved that 08 show as I was in the 11th row center

2005 and 2006 were the tours that got me into collecting PJ bootlegs. For me, 2006 is the band on fire and playing tight, super energetic shows. Almost every 06 boot is so energetic and has a particular groove that only happened on that tour. They sound lean, focused, and in a way, rejuvenated with the Avocado songs. It's one of the best places to start when collecting bootlegs. There's a consistency about the 2006 run that hasn't really been established since, although 2013 comes close. You can honestly pick out almost any 2006 bootleg and you'll hear something special. Not to mention, Ed's higher pitched, raspy as hell screams on that tour, like on WWS, Go, and Life Wasted.

I've listened to about 80% of the entire tour and the ones that were the best to me:
    Toronto 2
    Grand Rapids
    LA 2
    San Francisco 1
    Bern
    Bologna
    Melbourne 3
    Madrid
    Marseille
    Zagreb
    Vitoria

    Many more deserve mention though
    2008: Bonnaroo
    2010: Bristow
    2012: Atlanta
    2013: Charlottesville, Charlotte
    2014: Cincinnati
2016: Greenville, Hampton, Raleigh (cancelled), Columbia, Lexington

but it might have to do with Avocado being the last great album by this band. Those songs rip live and they mesh well with older songs. I don't know if you can say the same about Backspacer and Lightning Bolt tracks..

THIS. I think this articulates what I've thought for a long time. Some songs from Backspacer, some songs from Lightning Bolt meld well into a show, but Avocado was the last where pretty all songs just fit in a setlist with the rest of the music.

But, I still stand by 2003 (13 fucking years ago holy shit!) was when this thing was a wave cresting.

Went to both chicago shows and both milwaukee shows and grand rapids. Rapids was definitely the best by a long shot. Still one of the best shows I've seen. With that said I think the 2014 fall tour the band was absolutely on fire. Detroit, Moline, St. Paul, milwaukee and Denver has to be their best run of shows ever!!

It would be nice if they released the 05/06 on silver pressed cd's!

I like what you said here - but I do think the boys will be in fine form for the upcoming tour - considering the lengthy break they have had - NYC 2015 was the best shape I have seen them in a long time - specifically Ed and his voice/energy.

I agree. I have very high expectations for this tour. Should be a great one!! Look for Hampton to be one of the best. Smallest venue on the tour. The band seems to love these smaller older arenas.

2006 was when I started going extensively and not that I was necessarily surprised, but I was blown away by not only how great they sounded but also how apparent it was they were enjoying playing for the fans and being around each other. Every time I've seem them since then, watching the chemistry they have is just as much of the show as the setlist.
