I was just listening to those San Francisco shows...for about a month straight ! I think the second night was my favorite. They just sounded so good... might even be one of the best sounding shows I've heard. 2006 was definitely a great year

And Eddie forgot how to play Sometimes! I guess he was right when he said that he'd be making it up to us for the rest of the night, because he and the rest of the band sure did.

The 2006 tour was fantastic. Grand Rapids is still one of the best concerts I've ever seen. But... the 1998 Yield tour is when the band was at the peak of it's power. Like Jordan in his prime.

Agreed. 98 was PJ in their prime

This tour (Boston 2) was what got me back as a fan. I had gone away since 1994...but after this show I went back and soaked up the albums I had missed. Awesome tour.

If we always live in the past…….. what good is the future? How about maybe that "era" was amazing, just like new fans who get to see them live now will think back as this "era" was amazing years from now. Can't we just all grow old gracefully together? I get it, we all love this band, but why does how they use to perform live back then mean shit today? Shit man, If i read some of these posts and knew this was how our fans felt… I'd say right on, go find that time machine and take us all back there, till then, enjoy the boots and be happy we're still working our asses off and touring for you and giving you those memories to keep…… PJ will always be at their prime…..

Hate to say it, but it might have to do with Avocado being the last great album by this band..

Somebody needs to explain to me why they started back to back shows with the same three songs in East Rutherford that tour. Has that been done before in the last 20 years?

good memory bud! I remember thinking to myself...what the fuck is going on here? the same exact three songs ?!
    I thought it sucked

As much as I enjoy 2006 this is 100% dead on. I don't see how anyone could listen to Constitution Hall 98 or LO2L and think that the band has ever sounded better!

Not sure if it is because growing with the band you also felt the ups and downs or if they really did sound better some years than others.
    2005 was a standout tour.
2013 was highly anticipated, London fucking rocked.

Yes, they more than made up for their short Albany show in 2003. 2006 was a classic. Wish they would come back.

Power went out in East Rutherford too. During Animal. Ed made a joke about Springsteen playing there a few nights before and not paying the electric bill. Remember it like yesterday, caught Hard to Imagine that night.

The 2006 show in Hartford was mediocre. Probably due to the cold rainy day and the fact the band went nuts the night before in Albany.

98 was their best. Their five best albums to choose from for setlists. Ironically i like Matts drumming the best in 98 when he was winging stuff

I posted earlier in this thread but forgot to mention a key detail from 2006. My wife and I caught the very last show of that year. The 1/2 set opener for U2 in Honolulu....and nothing's really been the same musically since for us. We were just blown away. Joined the 10c about a month later and have now seen 16 PJ shows.
