There used to be a 'foe' button on the old forum...I found it very, very useful (I know Kat didn't like it).

Can we have a 'foe' button? pretty please?

i forgot all about the foe button. i used it on a couple of occasions when things got a bit testy for my tastes. i think it helped keep me from getting banned more often.

i mainly used the friend button so i knew when my peeps were online.

the stupid thing about the "foe" button was it showed you there was a post, but just hid the text. it's like having a sign on the fridge "giant chocolate cake here, don't open the door".

I actually disliked the part where when somebody else quoted them, you would still see what they said.
I didn't care if it showed they posted because I didn't really care what they had to say. The foe button made it easier to skip over their posts.

see, i am different. knowing that that particular poster posted something did not make me curious to see what they posted. it made me relieve that i did not have to read it and respond to it.

In all seriousness... the foe button never worked for me for the same reason as you. I simply didn't have the discipline to ignore like I kind of wanted to.

I only had a couple people on that list that never worked for me.

    Pretty much.

I remember the old forum was always dark, kind of like the lights out function but without blinding white text to contrast.
Stickies were big, foe button worked well but it didn't really introduce you to new people/ideas/thoughts.

edit - I remember when a screen shot of the old forum was posted compared to this one and everyone complaining how the white was too blinding for the eyes.

But they changed it pretty quick. The blinding white became shades of grey a long time ago.
