What advice can you offer for buying tickets to multiple shows?

betterstan37betterstan37 Omaha, Nebraska Posts: 1
I have always wanted to take a road trip and follow Pear Jam to four or five cities. I hear stories from Pearl Jam fans who have done this over the years. I would like to see the shows in North and South Carolina, as well as Virginia and Kentucky. If any one could offer advice or secrets I would greatly appreciate it.

With 10c tickets. If you're going to try and get GA only do it was a #1 pick. Most of the shows (except the small market ones) have the GA tickets gone in the first round. If you choose GA as a second, third, fourth etc.. pick your throwing away your pick.

I would use my #1 for the highest demand show I want to attend. Maybe choose some medium demand shows after that, and put the shows in really small markets later on as they might not even sell out of 10c tickets.

A lot of it is guessing. The NorthEast shows in the big cities are some of the hardest to get tickets for. Not only do they have giant populations, but the cities aren't far from each other, so you've got a number other big cities within a reasonable drive.

If you don't get 10c tickets, then it's the usual. Try other presales (like radio), if that doesn't work try the regular sale, and if that doesn't work keep checking all the time in case they release additional tickets.

It's probably too late now but if you have a person you go to shows with, they should also have a 10c membership. Doubles your odds of getting tickets.

If you are using TM, and pull a pair for a high demand show, don't throw it back for a better pair, be happy with whatever you get.

wait... the odds percentage we see, does it include everyone that picked that show whether it was their first choice or their 20th. Or does it reflect only each person's first pick?

For general sales on Ticketmaster, ALWAYS try the mobile app while simultaneously on your desktop. I've got great seats on my phone, while the desktop pulls up nothing.

The odds% reflects everything. Doesn't matter if someone had the show as their 1st choice or 8th choice.

So then how does that work... because my second choice is a GA that is a 49%... if that number is decided by ALL the people that picked that show, whether it was the first or 20th, then I very much still do have a chance to get those tickets and it's not a throw away pick because I don't know how may people picked it as theit first choice.

    Am I missing something?

They will fill all available GA requests at a show with people who picked GA as their first choice. If there are any GA spots available after that (which there won't be) they move to people who put it as their second choice. If there are still available GA spots, people who put
It it as their 3rd choice will get spots.

Don't worry about the odds, if you want GA, you should know that it's hard to get, especially in major markets.

If you don't grab tickets to a show, always check the boards before looking at secondary markets. Since members have to buy pairs of tickets, there's always a chance someone will be travelling alone and have an extra to spare.

If you want to travel and go to multiple shows choose reserved. Better odds. You can try for GA to one, make it your first and than go from there.

Is it also true that single GA's are easy to come by?

My best advice if you REALLY want to go (and got shut out on lottery)? Be prepared to some amount of a premium and go to stubhub. No I don't work for them and blah blah blah scalpers suck blah blah, but I've never missed a show I wanted go to doing it that way. But you've gotta be willing to pay a little more.

And before that? Try here. I've done several ticket exchanges or outright buys, and it's always worked out.

Since you joined today, you are out of the running for the lottery pre-sale. You needed to be a member prior to the tour announcement.

I'm wondering if it makes sense to not even bother entering for GA's that don't have great odds. Because if I get 2 preferred seats but then find a GA on here, I'd have to get rid of both seats. So then I could save my #1 for GA's at a show with good odds. Thoughts anyone? Ottawa, currently at 49% for GA's but 96% for seats is the show I have in mind for this theory.

Hold off till Sunday to make your picks. Go for whatever you'd really want. If you get shut out ask around here if someone has a spare, or just grab a ticket on Ticketmaster. The important thing is to be in the building, anywhere, and enjoy the show.

You're right. As exciting as it would be to be up close, when it's over it won't matter where I was. Thanks for the reply!

I find it hard to believe that with the small number of GA tickets they get, that the percent to any GA show at the end of the week, isn't 0%. Also, that when they do the "first round of first choice" for GA, they don't all go. I've seen people get a GA as their 5th pick. it's almost as if they do a limited number of picks like 500 at a time and then go to the 2nd picks (although the website doesn't say this). I don't see how someone can get GA on a 5th or 8th pick. they keep ya guessing.
