Philly tailgates are the best PJ pregame atmosphere in the country... it's really not even close

BUT, tailgates lead to some people not being able to handle their shit and getting WAY too sloppy... don't be "that guy"

    PJ tailgates are fantastic, yes.

Two that come to mind that were quite legendary were 4/28/03 (unbelievably spectacular weather) and 10/31/09 (part of one of the greatest week's ever).

And I know I am in the minority, but I've always enjoyed the tailgates in Camden.

I'm right there with you - say what you want about the venue, or the city of Camden, but not much beats a Camden tailgate, especially on a bee yoo tee full summer day and the sun's dropping behind the skyline. Now I want a Camden show.

Yeah you can't beat the view with the skyline and Ben Franklin right there. Always had a good time in that lot..

Camden tailgates are cool but the venue is awful. I'll take wfc any day for the show, way better experience.

Driving from NYC to Philly at 4pm for this. Should make it in plenty of time, right?

Eh, for the show? Yeah, you should be good. For some pre-gaming, not sure. From NYC it's about a 90 minute trip without traffic, figure two hour for normal traffic, then you're talking rush hour times.....I dunno....I could see this end up taking 2 1/2, 3 even....Waze app is your friend.

Okay thanks. I won't be able to tailgate for this one unfortunately.

I may head out earlier than 4 if need be.

Yeah, then you should be good for the show. I just never feel good with that ride - I always think the worst can happen. And it has to me, but it's usually been going north.

I know, same here. I'll make sure to watch traffic throughout that day as well. Waze is telling me that normally I could leave at 4 and get there by 6:20. That only accounts for 20 minutes of traffic though. But they also assume I will drive the speed limit .

Yikes! I'd be nervous but that's how I am. I've had it take an hour to get out of the city at that time of day. I've also had some nightmarish hours spent on the New Jersey turnpike headed south. Maybe you can skip out a bit earlier?

Question about parking - it's been about 10 years since I've done a Philly show. I'll be coming from NYC, and I do not plan on tailgating but figure I'll be there around 6:30-7. When I check online about parking I see this $10 Express Parking at Jetro, which looks walkable but I'm not sure. Am I better off just parking in the Wells Fargo lot for $25? I sure as hell will not reserve a spot online for $40.

I used to park at Jetro for Eagles games. It's like a 5 to 10 minute walk. Right down the street. If you are looking to save some money, it's not a bad option.

$25 is a repulsive price to park. Sadly it's the norm now.

Jetro parking lot is the party lot. And also a solid place to park for cheap.

If it's just 5-10 I have no problem walking to save the money. Thanks!

Ther are parking spots that are free.( I went Friday night for the NCAA Tourney and parked on Lawrence, just off Pattison). It's not far from the $10.00 parking lot and it's not too bad of a walk(I was able to do it and i don't get around like i use to)
