2016 Worst Year Ever

Excluding another PJ tour, 2016 will be the most socialist year ever in American history. Freedoms will be swept under carpet without you even knowing. Another pointless useless war will begin in the last half of the year,so another dipshit appointed figure head can take the reigns. May 2017 begin with the blame game.

2016 will be what you make of it Joseph. Your anthropocentric world view has no usefulness whatsoever. I intend to work harder than ever in 2016 to bring hope back into the world and fight for the well being off all creatures walking, swimming, flying and squirming across this magnificent planet. You can join me and others like me or you can stew in your negativity. The choice is yours.

This year - blessed. No ER visits or stays, good - beyond good! - amount of laughter, kicked certain challenges in the ass, some will require further kicking possibly with steel-toed boots, and dear beloved friends made.

Fatalism? No room for that here, not in my life. The moment hasn't even come yet it's dismissed?

    No way, and won't.

I do get how some might see that road as the only way, and fine. Walk it as you need.

    Me? Nope.

    Happy new year.

2016 is going to kick-ass. We are better off than 2,000 years ago, 1,000 years ago, 500 years ago, 100 years ago, 60 years ago and well I'll stop it there but we are still pretty damn lucky to live in the time we live in compared with all of history.

Ok, I will let er rip.
Why does this forum have such a dismal outlook on the human race and earth?
Why is it that before I (myself only) started posting I was content to have a read only status - not inflicted.
The amount of depression, pain, suffering, despair and general malaise that some strong posters have on this forum lends to a sickness of my own.
I don't care if your cat/dog/bird/goat/cow/third generation uncle you once heard of died.
How has this forum become a place of despair?
A wiseman once said "don't ever click on AMT",
Now I feel like I am ranting too long because another poster said to consolidate.
Just because Pearl Jam will be touring in April and not May does not mean that distraught, melancholy and depressed people have the right to take over the forum.
As passive aggressive people might say - stuff it!

Just wondering how pessimistic somebody has to be to declare something the worst year since the beginning of time (ahem, that's what ever means) before the year has even occurred.

  • I am reading a whole shitload of judging going on in AMT today. Everyone goes through phases of personal or global doom and gloom. If you dont like it, fine, but there shouldnt be a need to knock the person down even farther than they already appear to be.

But he DID make a difference if he motivated you to work harder, now, didnt he? See, like you said in another thread, we ALL have our jobs, our place, in this world. Try not to shove others down on your way to personal righteousness, Brian.

Was 2015 the worst year that's been so far? and the year 2014 was that the worst before that? Is this a trend you are seeing and can we stop it?

We wish you and your loved ones a Happy New Year. 2016 is just the beginning of our journey to Make America Great Again!

    Sincerely,

This is the time since 1997 that I haven't made it up to Oregon to see my old Pop (I don't want him to catch my flu bug). Ringing the new year ill is not my idea of a good start.

Or it is? I get to be home in my own bed, listen to whatever music I want to, catch up on some reading, get an early start on wrapping up my 2015 business paperwork, catch up with family on the phone and read fabulous New Years greetings on the internet from the ever-magnificent and magnanimous Donald J Trump (toot-toot... braaap!). It's all in the perspective.

2016 is going to rock solid!

It IS all about perspective - that which we choose to see and live.

So you had better do as you are told!

^^^ Whoa! Somehow missed that one. Elvis and those Beasties are cookin'!

What's with that dead beat audience? I'll dance enough for the who bunch of them.

    Good perspective there, Hedo!

Increase in wage, a bigger tax return since I worked a full year compared to last and MST3K coming back? Worst my ass.

I may sound sappy but fuck it. You got this song in my head now and it fits.

    I hope you don't mind
That I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world

    :)

And Hugh, I do get where you're coming from. Think sometimes it's needed for the aforementioned-perspective. Even just for release.
