I watch/read way too much sci-fi to have a fair opinion on this. Have you guys seen the Christmas Special of Black Mirror? No spoilers, but it does deal with AI in a sense. It's scary.

    Interesting
Google and NASA are using the machines to advance artificial intelligence and machine learning.

    http://www.computerworld.com/article/3015538/emerging-technology/quantum-computing-may-be-moving-out-of-science-fiction.html

And of course a shout out for it being Canadian made eh! "While there has been heated debate in the computing industry and the world of physics over whether one Canadian company, D-Wave Systems, has built a true quantum computer, there is new evidence that its quantum system is showing results.

Seems I read somewhere that quantum computers only work at super extreme cold temperatures which are very difficult to attain. Have they figured that one out yet?
    Yes my friend.
Up here in Canada we have the extremes you speak of.
Approximately 80mK?! That's .02 degrees above absolute zero (which is minus 459.67 degrees Fahrenheit), the necessary coldness for a quantum computer to function properly!

    Brrrrrr!!!
    Nah,
Just another winter in the prairies.
