So can I still be a 'super fan' and not travel overseas to see the band?

of course... I've never traveled over an ocean... but I'm down for a road trip

I'm an East coaster and I've travelled 1O + hours by car. That was just to get to the first show. Did 3 in a row and drove back. It was a BLAST. Great memories.

well yeah, I drove 8 to see them in Missoula...that was just one show. I went with a ticket buddy and drove all the way to Calgary. Edmonton and Vancouver. I would do it again.

I hate the plane, I hate Big Bertha giving me a complete feel up in the middle of the airport after Alpine...
I should have said you are correct in the east/ west coast thing. No doubt, big country out west. At times I could travel less than 4 hours in all directions and catch a show outside my general area.
Don't come closer or I'll have to go

I would have liked to have seen "how many months NOTICE do you typically require to get your affairs in order for a tour (booking time off work, saving $, I don't have kids, but for those who do, childcare, etc...)

My wife is a nurse, and they book their schedules several months in advance. Had the tour just been announced in December as opposed to say January or whatever, chances are we would have been able to catch far more shows, and I expect those with kids etc... are definitely in the same boat.

Also for travel, would have liked to have seen "how many continents have you seen them on" only because I'd be interested in the results --- because our fan base is clearly amazing - see Buck502000 above and many stories like that, such dedication.

I can't believe they had fans fill out a survey, instead of just doing whatever the Foo Fighters do.

Q13 : When buying artist merchandise, which of the following is important to you?
    What about the design?

  • Do you not think it would be better if we all answered that we wouldn't travel more than 1 hour to see a show so they schedule more shows in more places? If we all put we're happy to travel more than 5 hours, I guess it's encouraging fewer, bigger shows right?

Edit: I should say I have travelled a lot more than 5 hours for many shows and would do it again but I assume the reason for asking is to support the idea of bigger shows in fewer cities

I guess I'm being selfish. Shouldn't be encouraging people to lie about it just that I prefer smaller shows I guess. I'll definitely take fewer, bigger shows than no shows at all if that's what the guys need to do.

Optimal combined merch and concert travel time = 5 minutes; just enough time to walk through the house and out into you backyard while grabbing a locally made rad designed, high quality t-shirt, poster, sticker, and vinyl customized just for you with no shipping costs. Announcing 2016 Pearl Jam tour, coming to your own backyard! Invite your friends!

If only the more expensive merch and possible travel packages or quarterly vaults came with a raise for myself too  I wonder what the average age and income of the fan group is now.

I think they know our answers (ppl who post here), I think they're looking how they can get more money out of the causal fan, t-shirt, streaming, etc...

Tour more would be my answer, but what do I know...
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

I may not listen to the music but I'll probably play at least an hour of Pearl Jam on the guitar a week.

When I see long lines for merchandise at a concert:

I AM LESS LIKELY TO SEE AND BUY MERCHANDISE!!!!!!!!!

    this
I would have also liked to see a survey question, "Once you won the 10 Club ticket lottery, would you be willing to pay a few extra $ to pre-purchase a poster or sticker for said city?"
