I also see this same seller is the one who sold the poster a few weeks ago... so what happened that time, same thing? He had to relist it because the buyer was dissatisfied with brown marks on a $500 poster? I don't get it.

Yea true, but I'd be so pissed if I paid that amount and got a defective poster.

When filing a claim with Paypal for receiving an item significantly not as described, it is the buyer's responsibility to cover the postage cost for returning the item back to the seller. When possible, always use a credit card for purchasing through Paypal and file your claim through the credit card provider as opposed to Paypal.

Actually new policy is if you return because item is not as described seller has to pay return shipping and you get refunded for original shipping.

I don't know if signature confirmation is the same as return receipt, but I would do return receipt: https://about.usps.com/publications/pub370/pub370_004.htm

With return receipt, you get a card back with the person not only having to sign, but write in their name, date received and address. If it's just signature, he could be like, I never signed for that.

Excellent point, SuMay! We used return receipts at work all the time. It really helps us when we have to take legal action against customers. Not sure why I didn't suggest that in the first place.

I know it's stressful but try to take comfort in so many people telling you the same thing. EBay will side with the buyer.

I actually got screwed as a seller last year. I was getting rid of old crap and decided to see if anything would sell rather than me just throwing it out (aka donating it to salvation army) so I made my account a seller account and put up a bunch of random crap like old video games and then I decided to sell this watch that I was given as a gift but which I never wore cuz I was allergic to it. The buyer took almost a week to make payment (it's supposed to be 2 days) and then harassed me about shipping it. I left the country two days later. I came back after one month and I had a voicemail from PayPal and a thousand emails from eBay. The buyer claimed I never shipped the item. I told PayPal the tracking number was provided and sent to him in a message. They said that he claimed he never got it, and since I didn't answer them in time they refunded him and put a negative balance on my PayPal account & charged me some fees, & suspended my eBay account. I told them I had proof that I shipped it AND proof that I was not in the country which is why I didn't get their calls or emails and I couldn't even log in to eBay.com if I wanted to, they claimed that since it has been more than 30 days the matter is closed and I can't do anything. I ended up having to pay PayPal for the pleasure of getting ripped off by a con artist buyer. And no, I never sold anything else after that lol. I wasn't even making money off this stuff I was just trying to not be wasteful.

Make sure seller pays for return shipping and you get original shipping refunded.

It's very simple: Do PRECISELY what eBay and/or Paypal told you to do.
    Relax.

I found this out the hard way. i bought two blind melon dvd's off a guy. he sent me one, and the other dvd he sent me was fucking Thomas The Train. Paypal/eBay sided with me, but told me I wouldn't get a dime back until I sent it back, postage on my dime, and I wasn't going to be reimbursed the return postage. it was such bullshit.

Bt as already mentioned, this is no longer the policy. Which is good, because having to pay return shipping when you are the one getting screwed is bullshit. I was also screwed by this before it changed.

Contact eBay if u feel it was not represented accurately...get pics of his listing to verify. I’d expect there’s a formal complaint process
