I've been through that process a couple of times at different venues. There is no advantage to getting there early and a low number. Just have to get there by the cut off when they stop giving out the numbered bracelets. One time it took about 90 minutes. So its not too bad.

You can always just walk in when you arrive at the show if your not trying to get up close.
  • It is super effective and fair for those who care. It also ensures people who don't care don't get the best spots in the pit. And its an effective counter for the no-lifers who camp out and are always front row show after show. Not that there's anything wrong with doing that, but it gives a fair chance for people to get up close that can't dedicate over 24 hours to a concert.

How long does all that take?

    No clue exactly
Typically they open the doors for the G.A. people at 6 or so.

    Then I wholeheartedly support it.

In 2012 I showed up for the Denver lottery at 4:15.
Got number 686 I believe and the first number was something like 450 and only 700 and change were given out.

I was in the pit but in the back part and wasn't crushed at the front. Plus if I wanted to go get a drink and food or go to the bathroom at anytime I didnt have to worry about fighting my way back to my spot. Thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Guy on PJ radio talking about busting head open rushing to rail..hopefully we get a GA system like Bruce to tamp down the "passion" and bit.

I waited for the rail at Seattle 2013. Key Arena staff walked us in…no one ran. If people are allowed to run that is the fault of the venue staff and the person who chooses to run to the rail.

Bruce has a policy that if you run, you go to the back of the line. At least in Europe where there is no pit lottery.

First part of the year? Technically you could split the year into two six month parts, so it could be June and still in the first part.

Drop In The Park 2? Free for fanclub?

I have a funny feeling Big, Bold, & Free could still be coming
