Keep in mind bands keep a larger portion of the revenue at Barclays compared to msg. The garden takes a large cut if money.

Barclays is brutal. Went to both PJ shows, saw the Stones show as well. It is just not a very warm arena.

Also, as an Islanders fan I really despise this place.

As an Isles fan too, I think it will get better over time. But I'm also a Nets fan so I kind of have to feel that way.
I wish, but I was at the home-opener (and a few preseason games there) and even though it was sold out on paper it was only 70% full at best. And only 11K in attendance on a holiday game monday. This is place is bad news. Love the Coliseum.

THUS, hoping plays PJ is back at the Garden. They did such a great job renovating MSG.
I was at opening day too!

I had fun at PJ in the Barclays but the crowd was not as rowdy as MSG to be honest. I'm fine with either though.

I would gladly go to another Barclay's show, but I'm really opening for MSG this time. Never been to a show there and I can't think of a better band to see there than PJ.

30 minutes my ass. It took me two hours to get home from the Barclays Center after night 1. I could've WALKED home from Brooklyn by that time.

I don't have a preference either way as far as venue goes, but MSG is technically closer and easier to get to. Since the reno I've only been in the cheap seats at msg. They both have pros and cons. Barclays is steeper but MSG is less comfortable.
Tbh I don't give a shit what venue they play at as long as it's accessible and I get tickets :-D

When you live out east on long island yeah it makes a huge difference. MSG show I'm home in a hour if i don't get the local train> Barclays, I have to take a 15 minute train ride to jamica then wait 15 minutes at jamica for the train back to my train station and hope it's not the local train. So yea it does make a huge difference what venue they play. Oh and if the OP is who I think this is, then the MSG is a lock

Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
    Sammi: Wanna just break up?

Barclays is an Easy train ride on the LIRR. Not sure why everyone doesn't see this unless you're north shore?

Barclays N1 was stale because of the setlist. N2 I was up high and the crowd up top was friggin nuts!!!

Never been to a PJ msg show so I'd be down for that.

Agreed about night two. I think if that show was at MSG people would have been raving about it. Great set list.

Why are we even comparing MSG to Barclay's? No indoor arenas left in the US can beat MSG in terms of atmosphere.

It's still MSG. I was inside in 1980 for the first time and was there last year. The energy walking off the street into the arena is still the same.

I wouldn't classify this as New Yorkers complaining by any means. It's more than okay to have a preference between two "local" venues. Most of us have been to PJ shows at both at this point and MSG simply raises the bar and creates an atmosphere that can't be replicated in the sterile environment of the Barclays (or in many arenas I've seen the band). It probably sounds silly to those who haven't been at both, and that's fine.

Fingers crossed for MSG, but I'll take any venue around here, or if no NY shows hopefully figure something out like I did with St Paul and Milwaukee last year.
