my guess is that if any life were to survive for a long period of time (even in that extremely salty water) the climate would have to change, from what I understand the surface of mars changes from extreme high heats to low's, but still...what a cool find !

    Godfather.

I read about these little guys called Halophiles in one of Craig Childs' book. Apparently they thrive on extremely saline environments. They're very cool:

all right buddy I read the link....now I need an attorney and a dictionary to understand all the 50 cent words spread out all over the article LOL ! but I was thinking of the brine shrimp in Mono lake, that place is crazy ! salt pillars and liquid salt and still life finds a way.

    Read that this morning. Crazy.
.... I am still anxiously awaiting the news that they found fossils of some kind. Would be cool.... I guess man might need to be there for that kind of thing though. I wish they would hurry up with getting man on mars. I really want to see the real space/other planet explorations get on the road before I die.

    Imagine.

For every star out there, there might be nine planets, one fully capable of things like us.

imagine? for every galaxy there are 200 billion stars. How many galaxies do they think? a hundred billion.

and we're the only live ones, huh?

"yeah, I'm pretty sure" says the idiot in the corner, "I'm pretty sure"

then they are misguided in my opinion, the human race as a whole has advanced in terms of technology in just a very short period of time, medical advancements alone have changed the world.....but I think I know what you mean, maybe we are out-smarting ourselves to the point of total destruction ?

I was thinking Brine Shrimp too! I have been to a few places where I saw them in the salted water. I stuck my hand in the water and instantly felt my hand and arm drying up. Really weird feeling!

Couldn't understand how something lived in that!
