    So easy to cast stones.

??? I get that you try to be even-handed, and sometimes play devil's advocate a little bit. But your defense or dismissal of pedophilia is a little disturbing to me.

Or maybe the casting of stones was a cultural reference to a form of punishment being practiced there. In which case, I embrace that cultural practice if the sodomizer is the target of those stones.
Huh? I'm not defending anything. Come on now. Won't take offense but could.

Simply said there's shit humans everywhere and though I get Muslim bashing may give one a chubby it's just that. We have lots a child rapists here. There are sick fucks everywhere. Other than getting all mighty about how great we are do something about it.

Be so much easier for me to just go with the flow. Just recognize motivations and hypocrisy.

Unless we're pedophiles ourselves, I don't see any hypocrisy. It kind of seems like you're not clear on the actual situation. It's not comparable to America's.
I can't speak for anyone else btw, but I do not see this as a "Muslim thing" at all. I see it as an Afghani problem (and a US military problem, if they indeed just lie there listening to children being sexually abused and do nothing).
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata

Anyone around during the 80's or early 90's remember this? Every "culture" has these sick fucks in them. You just hear more about it about the afghan people because, hey, we need a boogie man.

And for Callen bashing, he's not defending this shit and you guys know it. If you took his comment as that then that's really stretching it. I remember I posted a thread about soldiers (our) raping little Iraq boys in front of their mothers during the invasion and it garnered zero interest. But if it's a brown Muslim Arab then let's discuss the shit out of it.

It happens EVERYWHERE and in EVERY culture. Humans are a sick fucken breed.

Nart,You take everything that happens in a Muslim country and feel like you must counter punch with a statement that shows others (west)doing the same.Thats a lot of responsibility in today's climate my pal.

Fwiw,Until you responded. I hadn't thought of it as Muslim problem.I looked at it as a Afghani twisted culture thing.A perversion and endergerment of children thing that knows no religion.

  • Its not the soldiers fault who get stuck being told not to do anything, it is the politicians and generals fault. Until you have served in the military you cannot understand the extreme culture of doing what you are told at all times without questioning it. You are brainwashed into thinking questioning anything will kill your brothers in arms and follow all orders blindly without thought. In a war zone this is amplified.

    You know,
If all the fine fettered friends on AMT who are opposed to war were to band together and join the military these thoughts could very well change what a military does.
    I could be wrong though.

    I won't argue that statement.
