Daily fantasy leagues..Fan dual or Draft kings

Last-12-ExitLast-12-Exit Charleston, SC Posts: 8,661
I am using fan dual this year. Week one I enetered into 4 games. Looks like I'm going to hit 3 of the 4 games. One for $15, one for $25, and another for $80. If Bradford and Charles Johnson gets me 20-30 points tomorrow, I can will $150-200.

This thread can be used to help each other in their daily leagues.

I didn't get enough TDs tonight. I have a slim chance on hitting a double up if things go well tonight, but that's it.

Yea, I have 117 points and have Bradford and chrales Johnson yet to play. If they can somehow combine for 25-30 points, I could win around $200.

How do these websites have such big marketing budgets if they are paying out so much money?

How do these websites have such big marketing budgets if they are paying out so much money?

I would guess that for every $100,000 winner, there are 50,000 people that deposited $100 and lost.

ha, yeah, I hear you. The question was largely facetious. These sites keep talking about massive payouts and all, but I feel like they are like slot machines, to your point.

the NFL are such hyprocrites to be taking the advertising from these sites. it's gambling period. yet the NFL is so against allowing sports gambling. i'd love to hear how they don't consider these fantasy leagues for money to be gambling.

because owners own stakes in those companies. Kraft and Jones do I know. Lots of 'important' stakeholders

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/darrenheitner/2015/07/27/draftkings-brings-in-300-million-led-by-fox-sports/

FanDuel’s important investors include NBC Sports Ventures and the National Basketball Association. DraftKings’ new round of fundraising adds the National Hockey League, Major League Soccer, Madison Square Garden to a mix of previous investors that also includes Major League Baseball. According to The New York Times, Fox Sports is the lead investor in DraftKings’ $300 million raise, which will provide Fox Sports with approximately 11% in equity.

Major League Baseball decided to reinvest in DraftKings and the Kraft Group, which owns the New England Patriots, also added money in DraftKings’ latest round, per Re/code.

I was already in the money in one of my games this weekend ($20) and still had Julio Jones left to play. Julio had a great game and got me 30 points. But somehow, my payday went from $20 to $15. How could this be you ask? Apparently, hundreds of people also had Julio Jones, and Matt Ryan. Fuck.

Still, I hit in all 4 of the matches I entered this weekend. $20, $9, $25, and $15.

My week 1 games weren't going well. Put in a Monday night 50/50 yesterday. Had Julio so I won that. Recovered some losses. Now that week 1 is over, I can dial it back a bit. No need to run 5 contests

I'm still playing my opening day baseball winnings. This is addictive.

I really sucked it up with fanduel over the weekend. Didn't cash in any of the 3 contests I entered. Hopefully week 2 goes better.

Yesterday I came in 650th place out of 77,250 people in a contest on Yahoo daily.

At one point I was in 33 and would have won big money but people with Julio Jones passed me by last night./

    Why? Please explain.

I haven't put money in my account since March. You just can't go nuts and play big money tournaments every day. I generally play a small money tourney if I feel good, but I mostly play the 50/50s and it seems to work out.

I'm pretty sure they take 10% of the entry fees for every contest. And both companies have had a ton of money invested in them by ESPN, NFL, MLB, etc...

Interesting read. It seems they like to feed in the two things I don't take part in...big tourneys and multi-entry games. Anyway, I find it fun and like anything in life...if you're not responsible with your own money it's your fault. Meaning, if you see one of the 2,000 commercials during a football game and think you'll join and win a million by Monday you're a dope.
