How's Your Luck Been in the Used Bins Lately?

Got this thread idea from another forum, but I thought this would be a nice place to see what everyone is finding at their local shops. I have been more into CDs lately, looking for early pressings of my favorite albums. Used Bin vinyl can be so hit and miss, and with the "Cool" mark-up used vinyl is now getting, it pushes me more towards hunting and finding a cool CD for $2.

So I will start, the other day I found a Made in Japan for US Dire Straits Brothers in Arms CD in an original smooth sided jewel case for $3. It sounds AMAZING!

    Spotted a copy of "Olympic Platinum" Xmas single today. Upon closer inspection the sleeve had had something spilled on it and the vinyl was a little rough. For $24 I passed on it.

    Otherwise, used bins have been more miss the hit lately for me.

    Actually, now that I'm looking over my haul, along with Brad, I crushed it in the B section, quite unintentionally, cause they were totally out of alphabetical order in the display.

    Blade Soundtrack CD
    Beastie Boys Hello Nasty CD
    Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings Double Bill CD
    Bryan Adams Into the Fire CD
    and Limp Bizkit Significant Other CD

    $12 total.

    Found an original IRS vinyl pressing of R.E.M. ‎– Reckoning for $3 today. The IRS pressings always sound so good! :smile:

    I've stumbled into a few nice REM lps and tapes in my time.
    With the B's, I found a 50th Anniversary remaster of the movie Fantasia on 2 mint CDs. The best of the show? A virtually un played Miami Vice soundtrack on white MCA cassette. 1985 much?
    2CDs, one tape, 5 dollars.

    If this was a thread about books, and it had happened a couple years ago, I'd have won it.

    I haven't found a replacement thrift store yet.

    Last year in London I was the happiest person on earth for about five seconds when I found Van Morrison's It's Too Late to Stop Now (two disk live shows recording) in the £5 box and then the most disappointed person on earth when I opened it and found only one disk inside which was not even from that album. Tears for DAYS!

    I put back a Pink Ten CD that was pristine, except for the ONE big gouge on the actual CD surface. I already have that anyway...

    It was about 4 years ago but I snagged Rearviewmirror on vinyl - $24.99 sealed. Brand new. Couldn't believe it

    It sounds killer and, tapewise, has the side benefit of being exactly 45 minutes long. Exactly.

    I've had a lot of good luck when it comes to condition. I've been finding a bunch of originals that aren't rare, but for the prices they have been in phenomenal shape. Like new, in many cases.

    Found a mint used copy of the out-of-print Failure album Fantastic Planet on CD for $3.95.

    Different kind of bin, but found a RVM CD in my recycling bin. Still in good shape. Plays great. Somebody dumped it in there. Random? :i_dunno:

    Houses of the Holy - Original Japan-For-US, CD pressing in the original smooth sided jewel case for $5, pretty stoked... trying to collect all the original Zep CD pressings.
