Nope, I don't think so. Does Bruce Springsteen do more repeats than PJ? He's the only rocker who might come close to what they do.
He definitely has more repeats than PJ. He uses the same main core setlist every nite, and has a few "wild card" slots where he'll mix it up. But nothing close to how Pearl Jam mixes it up
didnt read through whole thread- but they were filming both nights and maybe wanted to cover their tracks, angles and maybe choose best versions for the DVD- just a thought- still 5 years ago there werent any repeats from night 1-2 if i can remember...THis is why MSG 1 was better if you went both night- I said "again?" too many times. Dont get me wrong, i LOVE all the songs they repeated, theres just soooo many songs i still wanna hear. Also some repeats from DC- so it was like triple repeats!
8/25/00NY, 9/1/00NJ, 4/30/03NY, 7/2&3/03MSG, 7/14/03NJ, 10/13/04 EdW/Boss, 9/24&25/05 St Johns, 5/13/06CT, 5/27&28/06NJ, 6/1/06NJ, 6/3/06NJ, 6/24/06 OH, 7/15-16/06CA, Lolla07, DC, MSGx2, MA1, ED SOLO NYC1&2!
the only repeats i could have done without on night 2 were all night and no more, but i still enjoyed them both each time and was actually hoping to hear all night at least once.
if you told me going in that i would see them play a total of 59 songs over 2 nights with only 11 repeats, i would sign up for that every time, which is why i go to every local show.
My problem with it is its lyrical simplicity combined with its musical simplicity. I was sick of it th e3rd time I heard it.
That explains perfectly why I don't like the song. I was sick of it half way through the first time. I feel like for a song that could be, and probably be should be very emotional, its just kind of cheesy.
you couldn't swing if you were hangin' from a palm tree in a hurricane.
